Sure I would explore trade options if I got fair value for him and had a plan to replace him...
- Stripes77

So a person who is 24 and gets 35 points?

And has a track record of of ice issues*** Regardless if he is at fault or not

Is he the one saying it? He was like the biggest supporter of kane when the deal was made

Only talk ive seen is one twitter account suggesting it but its pure stupidity

they really don't "need" to sign anyone to be competitive...this is the second year of the build portion of the program...they're loaded at center and have their top d-man...they have capable wings and a few top-four d-men...even goaltending isn't as bad as some make it out to be...fact is, they're not a cup-contender this year but playoffs are within reach even without a big-name signing
- Michael Pachla

Yeah, that was basically my point. Barring any trades, they have the team they are going to have. With the young a year older and Ennis hopefully bouncing back, I think they are going to be better than people think. And I actually really like Lehner if he can stay healthy.

Sorry Michael but I had to stop reading after that...

The line up for majority of the season was a joke with the exception of 23, 15, 55 and 90. 9 showed some nice stuff at times too. This roster lacks creativity, speed, skill, scoring ability. If Murray sits on his hands and lets us ice a very similar offensive roster he deserves to be fired. I think he knows and wants to shake things up and we will hopefully see that come tomorrow and early next week

- bluengold12

Jeebus, fella.

You're awfully busy firing Murray. Feels like you give him ultimatums at least three times a day.

Spend some of that energy rooting for good things to happen to the team, instead of waiting for an excuse to spew the hate.

Not one bit. I'd take Yak, but I'm not giving up Kane. Again, the bar thing means less than 0 to me. He needs to produce on the ice, but I want to give him one more shot before shipping him out for nothing. Yak can apparently be had for a 2nd or 3rd.
- Zschalberg

I would trade Kane for anyone. I've seen enough of his way too hard or off-line passes coupled with missed tap-in opportunities set up by the silky smooth passing of Eich because he wasn't paying attention or his stick wasn't on the ice. Other option would be to make it through the year with him and don't protect him for the expansion draft. Best expansion draft ever for Sabres fans.

What in the world is going on?

Talk on twitter is do they buyout Kane?

This is why giving Matthew Coller air time is a joke

- Stripes77

I just don't see who that helps at all or how. Look, I get that he is a moron but that doesn't hurt us. It hurts his production, sure, but what about Moulson? Are we pressed against the cap that we need to get rid of him?

"He gives the city a bad name" Yeah, because Buffalo NEVER had a bad name before Kane, right?

"He's overpaid and underproduces" So does Moulson, Ennis, Franson, Foligno, Girgensons, etc.

"He's arrogant" That's not relevant

I just don't see the situation where any person with a mildly functioning brain says "We need to get rid of him and not only am I willing to do it for nothing I'm wiling to have a cap penalty to do it." Because we totally have someone to take his spot, right?

I don't disagree, but there's a difference between moving him for assets (even if its a one sided trade) and just buying him out.

Wasnt the rumor PK was traded because his teammates did not get along with him.

I know for a fact Kanes teammates were pissed after the first Kane incident.

Kane said he was going to shape up, he has not held true to that.

I guess he is only worth a bag of pucks or someone who puts up 35 points...

I get why Kane rubs people the wrong way. The ONLY thing he is guilty of at this point is getting drunk and missing practice.

But everyone is running him out of town.

How did that work with the last guy that was run out of town?

We have at least 6 players on this team who are worse than him. Kane stops us from doing absolutely nothing and you say you would ship him out for any player in the league.

I don't like the current make up of this team. I'll root for them if this is all they do (which i know they won't) but I won't like the team. I don't think it's good enough and besides Eichel and Reinharts moments of brilliance last year we were very boring to watch. We have no finishers on the team to score easy goals that 90 23 and 15 set them up with. Anyone who doesn't think we need to add 1 or 2 top six wingers isn't watching the same team I am. They have great pieces but they need to make the move now and most in the NHL agree Sabres are expected to compete for the playoffs this year. Can't do that with the wing talent we have on this team.

You know exactly what I mean.

He can stay out late all he wants, stay out of trouble. Why is that so hard for him?

It seems all other Sabres players can do it.

This talk of dumping/buying out Kane is just crazy talk. He's still productive enough to where he adds value to this team.

Only hurts if we don't replace the offense. Vesey is a good start.

Sure if he signs. Which is not a guarantee and he is also not guaranteed to produce like a top 6 winger next year either

Nobody can sign til tomorrow.

You've fired Murray 50 times in the last 4 days because "if we ice the same roster next year he deserves to be fired." Why don't you wait til the process starts before you complain about his "failure to change before next year."

Like that matters. Probably most of us were in bars before 21. Hell, I was in dumpy SB bars around 16
- jzabawaj

I go downtown pretty often since I'm still young, and I see a lot of the young Sabres out a lot. Reinhart and Kane are always together. Doesn't matter that some of them are underage. They get in because they're the Sabres and that brings people to the bars. Reinhart is always hammered when I see him though. Not in a belligerent way. He's pretty quiet to be honest, but often can't walk well, talk well, etc. Risolainen is one of the most stoic parties I've ever seen. Just stands in the corner and drinks. Purely anecdotal, but they're definitely out partying usually right after a game, and the younger guys are definitely with Kane.

You build with centers who can make wingers better. Wingers are easier to find. The elite wingers are hard to come by but the ones that can plug in next to a good center and put in their tap ins are a dime a dozen. Look no farther than this year's cup winner. We're fine.
