That'w what guys in their early 20's do...go out to bars. I'm not sure why this is so frowned upon?
- jzabawaj

I don't know, I'm not sold that Backes is right for us.

He's past 30, and there are a lot of tough miles on his frame.

I think we started to see that last season with only 45 pts.

I could get on board if his salary remains the same, think it was around $4.5M last year.

His production is only going to keep declining so if he wants north of $4.5.....I say take a hike

- nikel

he had the best playoffs of his career last season

Like that matters. Probably most of us were in bars before 21. Hell, I was in dumpy SB bars around 16

"Can you say, Larssony?"

C'mon Michael. Leave the horrible puns to Garth.

If Armia or Lemioux(sp?) pan out at all for Peg....this trade is looking disastrous for TM.......that's not even figuring in the other 1st we sent them!
- nikel

It was disastrous the moment it happened.

Kane was never the franchise winger you would move a bunch of pieces for.

Look at what Hall got in return.

It's the term on those type of players that scares me..good now but at 34

In a cap world players like him dustin brown and cally scare me

Completely different. That was a one in a decade move that found a desperate team showing their colors. 29 other GMs wouldve given up more

That trade was crap for crap...Lemieux is the only player I'm worried about. Stafford & Myers had to go

a three or four-year contract takes him to 35/36...and it's not like he's playing a full-time, top-six role either...he's in real good shape too, barely missed any games in his career...he's the type that might continue to be effective into his latter-30's

Why exactly? I'm fine with both of them gone. Fact is we undervalued them, and severely over valued Evander Kane

100% see your point and agree its just the term. 3 years sign me up.
But he if hes leaving St. louis i feel like hes going to want to sign at a place that he can finish out his career at and i dont want to be the team giving him 5+years

Kessel
Saad
