UFA. First eligible year I believe. Would be his 7th.
- Wetbandit1

Group 2 (Restricted) Free Agents
This is the larger of the two restricted groups. Essentially, everybody who has made it through the entry-level system and isn't old/experienced enough to be a UFA and doesn't qualify as a Group 4 player is eligible for restricted free agency. In fact, the official rules here overlap perfectly with entry-level requirements, even including the "slide". Here's how many years of professional experience you have to accumulate to qualify for restricted free agency:

Group 3 (Unrestricted) Free Agents
The easiest-to-define class. If you've accrued 7 seasons (with the same definitions as laid out about how 18 and 19-year olds accrue differently), you're a UFA. If you haven't accrued those 7 seasons by the time you hit age 27, you get to be a UFA anyway. The birthday issue is a little funny here, in that everywhere else, the date that matters is either September 15 or December 31. Here it's June 30. You could technically have a guy miss out on becoming a UFA because he doesn't turn 27 until July 2nd.

Laraque took too many punches to the head. He was a fuitcake(the crazy kind, not the gay kind) to begin with too. It would be very bad business to trade Kane right now. Low value and buying him out would be even worse. You're getting nothing and have a cap hit for the next 4 years. If we can get fair value for him, sure, whatever. As long as a guy can score 25+ goals that's all I care about.

Yeah, not like the TSN guys but usually when you have a news guy, there's fire to the smoke. But, obviously, up to something could be anything with anybody.

Yes, like orgies under the bridge

Harrington's a news guy. A dumpster fire perhaps.

They're 7 NHL years though. And I'm not sure he played enough games his first year here. Only 34. To accrue a year for UFA. 9 games to burn a year off the contract, but there's another amount of games that gives you a years credit for UFA. And I think it's around 40. That's what they did with Grigorenko. They sent him back to junior right before he hit that second number.

He's got a better likelihood of doing it than Girgensons. So unless we have someone to replace him then I don't see any benefit from getting rid of him.

Laraque is in the know somehow. He was the first to mention a potential Subban trade.
He also had exactly what Montreal wanted from Edmonton for Subban.

Hearing that Risto and E. Kane really dont like each other. Apparently got in a fight last year and had to be separated.

Ya know I kinda like that Risto doesn't like him. IF he really is a bad egg to have in the basket, good to see him recognize that in some fashion.

I don't know if this adds up because there's recent pictures on Kanes instagram of Risto, Kane, and Pysyk playing cards on a private jet.

I have friends who are around the team and heard it from someone who used to do analytics for the Sabres. Apparently it was downtown at Jims, a few players went out together and Risto had some words for Kane.

He's basically a better Franson. Don't see why anyone would be opposed.

We need to aim higher, not search through the dumpster for other teams scraps. Every time a player gets waived, or bought out, someone's on here signing them up.

If we're talking free agency, there's not a whole lot higher. Smart teams find other teams "trash" and turn it into treasure.
