Does he at least have a trophy wife? I will do that if Calgary misses and Edmonton makes it. - FLflames34
Hah dunno. We can put this on the back burner. Hope is lost by late November for the Oil. Could place a bet then. Lol |

So having another top-3 Dman won't help our transition game which has unequivocally been among our biggest problems in creating offense? Sorry, that's where you lose me. - MaximumBone
Considering his starts, pp time , competition, I'm not too concerned about his point totals
But the big one is his ability to break the forecheck and move the puck to the offence.
If he can do that on a regular basis, and pair him with klefbom, we might very well be a much better team |

I feel bad oiler fans, must make you sick to see such an elite player moved out for so little in return. I'm kind of thinking Subban for Hall would of made more sense for both the Habs and Oilers. Even if the oil sign luchic I still think Hall is better than both he and larsson. Sucks to see homegrown talent traded away. |

I wonder how Larsson adapts to playing on a team with many notoriously bad back-checkers. - Ned_Wrecks
*atleast one less notoriously bad backchecker compared to last year

Which Kessel trade hurt more? Had to be the Seguin/Dougie one. |

He was traded just a few months ago. We could have done it then. - Iggysbff
Except that Nashville wanted a Center. You know, a position that holds more value.
Everyone on here thinks Hall is amazing, and yet where is he on the World Cup roster? He couldn't beat out guys like Thornton, Giroux, Duchene, Marchand, and Carter.
He's a good winger. But not a player who elevates the game of others around him.

We MAY have that now? May? Thats a big issue. Trading our best trade chip for another Maybe. - Iggysbff
If you can sign lucic then yor team is better..
Chia got pumped hard and dry.
Larson should pan out way better then Gudbranson ever will, but hall is an elite star. No way should this trade have happened.
I'd go so far as to say that Tanev is better then Larson, no way do you trade Taylor fricken hall for Tanev. Or for Gudbranson And a first round pick.
You might get a Larson for a guddy and a first.
I don't get it, I wonder if hall was offered for hamonic during the season.
Anyways is a head shaker. I'm not trolling I am genuinely head blown.
Only way this pans out is if you can land lucic and demers.
Even then, Taylor (frank)ing hall... |

I think the Oilers got Roman Hamrlik again. Not saying Larsson plays similar to him just that I think his career will be similar in terms of achieving the potential he had when drafted. I don't think he will be the stud they needed especially giving how much they gave up to get him compared to Hamrlik.

do people seriously still think the Oilers have been a high powered offense that has just given up too many goals? They gave up too many goals and have struggled to score for years. I don't see how trading their 2 best scorer for a good dman helps the team.
move had to be made...but not this move IMO |

Very weird, confusing and all around terrible trade for the Oilers. Hall is so good. Why?.... Just... Why? |

Larsson's also 23, Swedish, and has played on an offensively inept team with minimal PP time. His true value remains to be seen which is a big part of the deal. |

26th in goals for were the Oilers last season...their high end offense is a myth |

Oilers were slightly better offensively (26th vs. 30th)...and now lost their top scorer from last season |

So draisaitls precipitous drop off without hall was just a coincidence ?
Purcells big numbers alongside him that basically facilitated interest to trade for teddy were just coincidence?
Brodie didn't make it. Neither did Giordano. Kessel didn't make his team. Neither did shattenkirk.
Don't play the 'infallible gm' card. They make errors and poor choices all the time.

A defencemen cracking the forecheck and Moving the puck into transition is their biggest weakness. Especially a right handed one
Dude, the semantics thing is more your bag, not actual specifics and details of what ails the oilers |

Reinforcing the backend will help lower GA and reinforcing it with puck movers and puck carriers will further improve the offense. The impact a strong D has on the production of forwards can't be understated. Same goes for forward depth. Add some forward depth with players who can actually score beyond Letestu in the bottom-6. Guys like Connolly, Pirri, Stempniak, and Jurco could be great adds for relatively cheap.
Aside from that, a full year of McDavid and a step forward on the PP will do wonders. |

Just saying...people seem to think the oilers have some high powered offence, they don't. Losing Hall I would bet everything I own they are in the bottom third for goal scoring again this season. |

I saw it, not sure where the puck moving d-men are coming from...your comment on Sempniak I agree with
Oilers will struggle to score this season big time though IMO |
