Today is the day that Lucic signs a new contract with the Oilers for as much or more than the Taylor Hall Contract, does this mean that Lucic is a better hockey player than Hall? Let someone else overpay for this over rated pylon.

I've been banned so I haven't been able to chime in on the trade. We definitely overpaid for Larsson. Hall is elite and Larsson is not. I would've prefered Eberle and a 1st to go instead but you gotta pay to play. Every GM in the league knew that we needed a top pairing right shot dman. Now we have one. Maybe there was a bit of collusion to keep us from getting one. Nobody wants to be the one that gives us the piece we need to push us over the top. It also clears roster space to sign Lucic which I am a big fan of. Larsson + Lucic > Hall in my books. Losing Hall hurts, but at the end of the day I think this trade makes us a better team. I also believe Klefbom-Larsson will become one of the best pairings in the league. Both still young, and both physical beasts.

Can't see it being THAT bad, but definitely not a good choice if it's 7 years. On the bright side, teams like Arizona will always exist to take on bad contracts.

It's either we give up cap hit or term. Not a fan of the term, but the cap hit is fine. All in all, I say we do it. I love Lucic!

I think there was collusion in the sense that GM's knew that eventually one of them would crack the Oilers and land Hall, Nuge or Ebs for a way lesser return.
