Well gee, thanks...

There is no doubt the team got better overall, but imo, other pieces could have gone instead. Reports are coming in that Lucic had already signed with Edmonton prior to the deal.

As for Dumba, that would be a great pickup. A fu tu re defense corps of Klefbom-Larsson and Nurse-Dumba as your top 4 would be sick.

But seriously, you don't know any good restaurant near the downtown area that might be open late?

Why do you say other pieces could have gone instead of Hall? Have you considered that maybe just maybe New Jersey looked at Eberle or RNH and thought " meh" ?

Let's face it. RNH, Eberle and Hall led a team to absolutely nowhere. Other teams don't cover these guys as much as we would hope.

Today is the day that Lucic signs a new contract with the Oilers for as much or more than the Taylor Hall Contract, does this mean that Lucic is a better hockey player than Hall? Let someone else overpay for this over rated pylon.

This trade was surely seen as an established elite talent for a potentially elite talent from a GM's perspective. That is what makes this trade so risky and somewhat lopsided. As for the Lucic signing possibility, I imagine a deal was already completed but not announced or else Chia would not have pulled the trigger.

As for Larsson, the only way this trade can even pan out is if he fully establishes himself as an #1 elite defender which could happen. He was on an offensively limited team so he might blossom offensively with Edmonton. Defensively, he is great. He is a fantastic top 4 defender, but is also capable of playing top 2 minutes atm.

Short term, NJ wins big. Long term, Edmonton might win IF Larsson projects as an Elite RHD defender. He has the tools and he just recently had a good breakout season. Plus a top pairing of Klefbom-Larsson would be a sick combo. Just a thought, but this might accelerate the development of both Klefbom and Larsson... the killer swedes...

On another note, just got accepted into University of Alberta's BSc. Spec. in Biochemistry program. Anyone know some good beer/liquor I should buy to celebrate the nighat or a great restaurant to go with the fam?

- EdmHockeyMan

If true congrats on College and I want a picture of your prom date ad that you got suspended over.

Not likely anyone here gives a (frank) about your acceptance into the UofA so we'll move on a bit.

Secondly. Does it really matter if the Oilers won or lost the trade? We improved our defence. We'll replace 75% of his offence at free agency and add a little toughness. the Oilers have improved in the last 24 hours and will likely improve more in the next week.

My prediction:

Oilers sign Lucic
Oilers trade Ryan Nugent Hopkins and Brandon Davidson to Minnesota for !att Dumba and Jason Pomminville.

I'm in a good mood this morning so congrats on being accepted into whatever the (frank) that program is/entails.
I make it to Edmonton maybe twice a year, but the one restaurant I always try and hit up is the Ragazzi Bistro Italiano. Good service and great food.
As far as booze goes that is afar to individualistic a thing to recommend. If you said name a good whiskey or name a good wine it would be much easier. But for poops and giggs I'll suggest you score a nice bottle of sake and drink that poop hot. Its damn good and different enough to qualify as a celebratory drink.
Also Happy Free Agent Friday (frank)ers.

I filled that space under the stairs that I had cleared for you. Not cause I thought you were dead, just no way you were coming to Alberta after the price of Oil went into the poopter last year. Good news is there may be temporary work re-building Fort Mac.

Well our province sucks too. I give the Newfies props though for fighting at least. Usually we complain for a few days and then give up... We've been bashing the hell out of the Liberals, and you can tell it's breaking them

Pylon? (frank) that! The man is a beast! Sign him up! I want anyone that looks at McDavid promptly punched in the face! On top of that, Ryan Miller absolutely hates the guy. Lucic will be under his skin and have him off his game when we play the Canucks.
