I can honestly see Yak being here to start the year. Perhaps by trade deadline his value could be higher. Who knows maybe he has a break out year and proves himself a valuable piece of this team going forward. We certainly will need the offense.

Yeah losing Hall for less than fair value is a kick to the gut.
Signing Lucic for more than 5 years is a kick to the gut.
Signing Demers for more than 5 million is a kick to the gut.
They are all not the best outcomes but at least they aren't kicks to the nuts.

Optimal? No. But there is nothing that we can do about it, so no point fretting over it.
Worst case scenario with those signings is that we ice an overpaid but competitive team. A little winning would go a long way.
