Dont give him facts. He'll ignore them or make up excuses as to why it's different with Larson. It's funny how he dredged up fancy starts to prove that we overpaid for Gudbranson(à Larson should be and is better then Gudbranson) however those same stats show Larson as a top 4/6 defenceman who doesn't put up points.
This trade is the equivalent of us trading Horvat and virtanen for Gudbranson.
I believe if we had ordered Horvat alone for Larson we could have got him.
This is so much Lolz,
Hall was not made publicly available for trade. If he was a deal would have gotten done earlier in the Year. Tanev>Larson
Does that mean that Tanev>hall, hell no. Worst trade of the century, makes Millbury look like a genius.
If you can land some ufas like Stamkos you will be all right.
Lucic is signing in Vancouver, my barber goes to the same church as him.
For everyone who has been pissing on Chia, you guys are nuts... Chia has the best negotiating skills I have ever witnessed. Look how he masterfully handles this... Such grace... "Like, if you don't have another first, like like like ummmm maybe a second if you want or if maybe you're thinking a prospect or something that might be cool... Or maybe you can just buy me dinner or some sh1111t, I don't know. Do you want (frank)ing Seguin or what?"
At the end of the day, neither one of us know exactly what transpired. I just don't see how a GM would jump the gun in a situation like this. It's human nature to want to win these trades by a landslide. Chiarelli knows how valuable Hall is on paper and definitely would've called every GM in the league and asked for their best offer. I think. - rangerdanger94
He should've dealt nuge Or ebs for larsson instead!!
Do people seriously think he hasn't pitched those guys?
He just called up shero and threw his top offer from the get go..

You keep trying, but still keep posting utter nonsense. This post is a fuking abortion.
No one cares about gudbranson. Let it go. He's s 3rd pairing plug.
Deal with it
This trade was abysimal. You guys are lucky to have a lot of talent up front. I feel like Oilers are plagued by the fact that all other teams know they are desperate for defense and that they have a very top heavy offense. This doesn't justify this poor trade. However, Edmonton will need to trade other good player (Eberle and Yak) to hopefully land another Top 4 D and a reliable depth D (5,6 or 7).
Oilers have a lot of offensive talent, but Chiarelli does have a massive dilemma to face, all GMs know he is desparate becuase of the poor balance of the team, which makes it more difficult for him to get a good return for his players.

Prison for money laundering and smuggling Mexicans across the border. U-Haul trucks are (frank)ing amazing btw. Do you know that a 15' truck can fit nearly 130 people?

Look at all the geniuses around that table...
Neely, Chia, Sweeney, Benning....all a laughing stock in this league now.
Oilers, their media and their fans were naive to THINK teams would give away a top defenseman because they are much more difficult to find...The Blues offered Shattenkirk at the draft for HALL if the Oilers gave that 4th overall.
There weren't even teams like the Wild of Ducks offering Dumbas and Fowlers for RNHs or Yakupovs mostly because they all come with those already high CAP hits.
By virtue of signing Lucic next week, Hall, though better than 'vet' Eberle, and youngsters Ryan Nugent Hopkins, and Yakupov and their soon to be over-priced on the job training RFA numbers, was the best chip to give them a possible future TRUE first pairing defender...no one else was calling them back...he is better than Jacob Trouba at this juncture (who Bruins are trying to get from the Jets) and Jets filled a need, so their fans need to move on.
So you fill that spot with a kid who has been coing along, and had to play top pair minutes with another guy Greene, who no one mistakes as a top pair guy either.
