What do you consider good defence? To me it's reducing shots and scoring chances against your team. PK has done that almost better than anyone for the last several years (far better than Weber for that matter). I realize you don't like the fact that he doesn't do it by playing traditional shutdown defence, but does it really matter as long as it gets done?

I don't really care if Weber is better in his own end if him being on the ice still means the other team is going to get more shots and scoring chances.

Yes but history tells us that he would have to be extremely lucky to be an effective top 4 defenseman in those last 3/4 years based on how he plays. Subban is just now entering his prime and plays a much more sustainable brand of defense.
