tb has one year left, then their team is gonna get blown up - DeanYoungblood
How do you figure? They will let Bishop walk or trade him to free up space, and they have some UFAs and RFAs to sign, but every successful team has to lose some players. They have such great depth right now, they can afford to lose some players, or trade for picks/prospects. TB is set for the next few years at the very least. Stamkos taking a discount only helped them re-sign more players. |

If I was a Nashville fan, I'd be thrilled. Weber has an absolute cannon of a slapshot, but PK is much more dynamic. People will say Weber is on the decline, which I don't know is true, but I think PK is a better all around player and fits the faster model of the NHL. Pair him with Josi, Neal, Forsberg and whoever on the PP and you have a top 3 - 5 unit in the NHL.
Plus PK is three years younger. I think you got the better end of the deal (from an outsider's perspective), nothing close the robbery that NJ just pulled on EDM, but a very solid trade for the Preds. - mw630

Weber will have an easier time out east, smaller opponents and it will be the opposite for Subban. - J-P
it doesn't make any sense to me, especially after trading seth jones for johanson this year, they coulda kept jones and traded weber for a way better forward, i know pk is better then jones but i think jones will be just as good in another year or two. If you can get hall for larsen just think of the forwards you could get for weber |

As a Pen's fan, that is one my favorite trades of all time. So glad Forsberg is not playing with the Caps, they'd be even scarier of a team. That's easily worse than the Larsson for Hall trade.

Youve clearly never seen him play. Because nothing in this statement is even close to true. |

Team Canada also doesn't have to play and pay him every year until 2025 - 2026. |

pk is better all around than weber!! you don't watch much hockey do you.. pk sucks at defending.. i'll definitely take playing against pk over weber 5x a yeat.. welcome to the central pk time to learn how to play D our get torched every game.. and no price to bail out your terrible decisions |

He does have turnovers, but a lot of pure offensive players do.
He isn't overrated though. |

bishop won't free up much cuz vasilevsky needs a contract. you gotta sign kucherov killorn, maybe nestorov, namestikov and marchesault still this year. Next year hedman sustr drouin johnson palat boyle. I think tampa is stacked right now but your gonna lose two or three significant players |

Is EDM better with Lucic and Larsson?
Or just Hall? - Number04
Great question to raise, only time will tell.
People are quick to say this was a bad deal for Edm and yet Larsson hasn't played a game here yet. The Oil have to get out of the basement and that process had to start somewhere.

Just to make sure I missed something, does this mean that Weber counts $7.5 million against Montreal's cap for the next TEN years? |

Let me guess - Karlsson and Letang are terrible at defending too? Great commentators like you going to the "You must not much watch hockey much" defense but provide nothing to backup your Weber is better argument. I'm glad you're excited to play against PK 5x a year and continue to watch the Wild underachieve either way. |

I didn't think the Leafs would make a big push for Stamkos, based on what Babcock and others in the organization have said. I've actually been against them offering a huge contract (though only just on the other side of that fence).
That said, I get a sneaky suspicion there's more to it than this. Even the media people who thought he would resign in TB, assumed it would be for a higher amount than the originally offered 8.5 Mil.

It's like the Canadian teams collectively came together and said (frank) it - let's all miss the playoffs next year too.
WTF is going on with these trades? Larsson is a fringe 3 -4 defender and PK is superior to Weber in every way except for his slapshot. - mw630
Any other Canadian teams need a goalie then at this rate the wings might be able to get a top defenseman for Howard |
