Without the hardware its just an opinion..subban has it already and he did it at the age of 25...weber is 31 and hasn't done it yet should tell you something..there is simply better players at that position them him if he can't win it. - arnpriorguy
Fair enough... in your opinion, is there 10 D's in the league better than Weber? |

Great trade for both teams. PK was a room problem in Montreal or they don't move him. Webber is a leader and Nashville pick up offence. Win Win |

That's 4... sounds pretty elite to me! And I'm not sure about PK and Letang ... I'd put Keith in there though |

Seabrook and Byfuglien? Really? And Suter? Weber is not elite because he hasn't won a Norris but all those guys are better even though they never got a sniff of the award? Weber was at least runner up 3 times |

byfuglien is the go to guy in Winnipeg kept pace with karlsson...same with suter turned the wild into a good team in one yr almost... Seabrook has how many cups ? Can't deny that one whatsoever...weber has been consistent his entire career but by no means a game changer...subban in Nashville watch him there if you can much better team with him, sure the guy has his rough edges but you can't deny the talent |

Plus if he is that good why trade for someone that maybe a locker room problem...I think the press saw that weber couldn't get over the hump and went after a guy that could to be completely honest |

Never said Subban wasn't insanely talented... And now we go from Norris trophies to cup to determine if a D is elite? I guess we can scratch Subban, Karlsson, Burns, Suter and Buff off your list and ad Johnny Oduya and Rob Scuderi |

I can't believe it...dumb get dumber.
Let me get this straight, Edmonton has Eberle, RNH, Yak and Hall for trade chips and they use their best asset for...
LARSSON?
It's official...Yakapoo is worth a fart in a sammich baggy.
So Edmonton trades one of their better scorers and leaders and they still need to sign/trade to fix their defense |

My assessment is that the Preds got the better end of the trade. I don't understand why the Canadiens decided to trade PK. Doesn't make any sense to me. |

Cause he gets paid 9 million a year to be an offensive D man and he managed 6 goals last year? But he pulls off a sick spinorama |

[Not his fault his entire team went into lose mode the moment price went down...nor is it his fault he got the contract someone has to offer him that |

Might not be his fault the whole team shut down but being the highest paid player doesn't exclude him from that, on the contrary |

Being ur highest paid doesn't make u the best player price is the habs...subban is a great talent but way too much pressure on him with that contract... and weber well is way over paid but not his fault for being offered that kind of money on a offer sheet |

Wow! Too much pressure for PK? Maybe that's why they dealt him for a guy who can handle the pressure |

I've been a Preds fan ever since they came in the league so I know what I'm talking about with this team. Whenever Weber and Josi were on the ice together a feeling of security would sweep over me. It was like no matter what happens those guys will be around playing exceptional hockey together. So to have Weber be shipped out really just rips me apart because I can't fathom how it could get better than what we had, that being said I'm excited to see what the future holds with what feels like a modern model of what you want in a d-core. Thank you Shea you will be greatly missed! |

I'm surprised to see so mich love from a sens fan, every one of your kind i met think subban is a dirty piece of ****.
The trade is good for both Teams. Montreal gets rid of their wanna be superstar who cant even crack team canadas D, while they get a veteran like weber who still has at least 5 more years of very good hockey left with a front loaded contract which nashville already paid most of. A natural leader who plays mean and tough, and has arguably the hardest slap shot in the NHL.
NAS gets a guy who will sell tickets, sell jerseys and be flashy to attract people to the rink during the regular season. But will he be a distraction? Will he be as effective out west? that remains to be seen. He for sure will put up points on the board though.
In the end its win win.
UNLIKE THE NJ/EDM trade. holy smokes.. |
