I honestly don't mean this in any trolling way.. but I really am sorry for you guys. I honestly thought you guys would trade Yak/RNH/Eberle before Hall. I understand you need help on the blue line, but I thought PC would've gotten much more for TH... and Larsson barely plays on the PP... I'm shocked, stunned, disappointed right now.

He doesn't play on the PP because his minutes are used to play defense against the top players in the league. It' not because he's not capable of it. It would put an even bigger load on him. I think he could handle though.

Larsson is a minute eater machine. Pete Debeor put him in the dog house and he suffered for no reason, while other crap defensemen like Salvador or Harrold were never punished.

The past season and a half out from under Debeor he really blossomed into a top shut down guy. The reason why his numbers are low is because of him getting so many minutes against the top players in the league he doesn't get a lot if any PP time.

Just look at his dzone starts and his time against opponents it's all 1st line players.

All of you Oils that are pissed you got Larsson have no idea how good he is.. He plays with an edge, plays safe, rarely makes mistakes. has lidstrom's calmness. Thinks Defense-minded Hedman. Larsson is the one guy on NJ i never would have traded. Both teams addressed their issues.

So is Sweeney. There must have been some backroom hand jobs going on with this one.

Forward group still looks good, defense group is much stronger. In terms of how much the team is better, it is probably an ok trade. In terms of player for player value, it looks bad for EDM.

RNH straight up would have been closer in value in my opinion, I'm sure it was offered and rejected by NJ though.

Safe to say the Devs won the deal, but I think this will help out the Oilers.

Larsson is a very good, still young two way dman who will fit in very nicely on the Oilers top D pair. Thing is he will now have a much better group of forwards to work with as well. Lets also note that his cap hit is very friendly. This isnt some Tyler Myers deal here.

Again, not saying that the Devils didnt win this deal, I just think the hype of how big of a "rip off" it is being portrayed as is a little much. A Klefbom Larsson duo can do some solid work guys.

So, do you think Edm plans on using him on the 3rd pairing? If he's good he should be against the top pairings. Edm needs a top pairing guy, not a 3 - 6 dman.

I feel for T.Hall, he has lead that team through alot of losing season, and been one of the only guys to continually show heart.

Gudbranson for McCann looks like a great deal now.
