Not an insult. Just like saying it gets cold in Canada, it is what it is.

Stop trying so hard to be "different".

- DuranDuran

He's so dumb. Nobody here likes him, as evidenced by the comments, yet he still refuses to (frank) off.

I wish he were in that nightclub in Orlando, it would have made it less tragic if he took one to the dome while he was dancing to the Macarena .

I just dont understand why Chiarelli makes this trade. Taylor Hall is a 1LW on at least 25 NHL teams. Adam Larson is a 1D on zero NHL teams. I understand that defenseman are valued more than wingers, but this trade is a head-scratcher. Larsson has a career high of 24 points in the NHL, and was in the AHL for the majority of the 13/14 season. Did Hall ever play one game outside of the NHL since he was drafted? I am not trolling, or trying to rub salt in the wound, BTW. If I was an Oilers fan, I would be getting the torches and pitchforks and marching towards Peter Chiarelli's house demanding an explanation....or save the franking explanation, and burn that mother to the ground.

Trading from an area of strength for an area of need, sure, I get that. But Hall was your 2nd best player behind McDavid, right? Wouldn't the Oil have been better off trading BOTH Yakupov and RNH instead of Hall? Or targeting a dman that either has higher upside or NHL success already on his resume? This trade really sucks, IMO..even if the cap savings equate to Lucic + Demers. You've got to get more back for Taylor Hall. SMFH Chiarelli. Heck, shouldve been on the phone with Montreal for a package around Hall for Subban....

First Bold: Because Edmonton will probably have more offensive output next year because of the depth.

Second Bold: He eats minutes, which is what Edmonton needs. Hall doesn't. They also saved around 1.8 million on cap.

Third Bold: That was 2 years ago. He developed.

Fourth Bold: Actually, he played in Oklahoma during the 2013 season. But this has no bearing, defensemen take longer to develop.

Fifth Bold: He actually gave quite a concise explanation to why Hall was traded. He picked up a minute eating RHD who can move the puck, which Edmonton has lacked for the longest time.

Sixth Bold: Also the most valued. They wanted to sign Lucic, a unique talent, someone who'll protect McDavid.

Seventh Bold: New Jersey has too many centres and Yakupov blows.

Eighth Bold: How though? If they sign Lucic this is a better team.

Ninth Bold: Montreal wanted: Klefbom or Nurse, the first overall, Draisaitl AND more. The only reason why Montreal made that trade is because they were getting a stud RHD back, which leads me to believe that there were problems in the locker room.

Okay? There are some reasonable people that talk hockey in here, and that's what I enjoy.

And really you guys are just Richards, hence why people like Dangles, Chet and Yman aren't coming back.

So you call someone homophobic, then go right round and make a joke about the Orlando incident. Hmmmmmm

Larrson is a fine player, is capable of the heavy minutes, and is only 23 yrs old and getting better.

Would rather this trade than a Hall for Seabrook one, to be honest.

- Jeropotato

Lol. I understand you are grieving, but I came here to offer condolences for the awful trade of a 70point 1LW for a soft as cotton 4D that had 18 points last year. Larsson was considered a complete bust up until this decent 3 goal, 15A season. You comparing him to the former Canadian Olympian and #2D on a 3x Cup Winner is laughable. You can throw jabs @ Brent Seabrook or any other champion from the Hawks as "overrated" or "overpaid", or worse than Larsson, but it changes nothing about the step back your team took today.

Larsson isn't half the Defensemen that Brent Seabrook is over 200ft of ice. But if it makes you feel better about the trade, sure thing. Let me know when Adam Larsson wins a puck battle in the corner, I might be waiting quite a while. Awful trade, and I wish Chiarelli had called Stan Bowman. With his talent evaluation, Seabrook wouldn't of been on the table. TVR, Svedberg and a 2nd for Hall. And you wonder why nobody feels sorry for your team sucking. I try to empathize and critique Chiarelli, and you throw shade on Hawks players. If you pick Larsson over Seabrook, you and Chiarelli are equally as clueless today.
