Larsson. He hasn't put up the same offensive numbers but in my viewing experience he is the more defensively reliable option.
And I'd just as soon never see Hall don a Flames jersey. - Wildschwein
Being an in province trade or not, Larsson is definitely the better fit for this team. They dont need a bunch of offense from the point, they are loaded up front. And last year you all were a bit peeved to not get Hamilton for the price, but had it been Hamilton for Hall last yr I dont think there would have been this uproar. And in the end, you do get the better fit. And Hamilton is absolutely what Calgary needed. It will be interesting to compare the growth of both players going forward. I think their ceilings are very similar even if they play completely different styles.
Having said all this, I do think it rationalizes todays trade a wee bit. |

i would think it is a lock for mcdavid now.... not sure giving it to him before the season starts is a good idea though.. maybe wait for next off season. |

How so?
I had figured it would be Hall but I have no (frank)ing idea who it goes to now.
Hopefully not McJesus. That poor little (frank)er has enough on his plate. |

I don't think so. Your just waiting for the sake of waiting. This is his team now. |

Crazy day, wish it would've been nuge or ebs plus but I guess we will see what Larson can do. Any idea if Klef and Larsson have played together before? |

RNH would actually be an interesting choice. But if it is McDavid, leave the C open for a year like TO did a few yrs back.

It's his team. Besides, not that much goes into it outside of showing up every game. The public poop is a snap for a nice guy like McD. |

Klefboms most notable D partner was Brodin, I do believe. |

If they sign Lucic... They are a much better team after this move.

True. If Hendricks had a few more years left I'd give it to him. Kinda surprised they didn't last year actually. |

100% his team.. i just dont like the idea of handing him the captaincy with under 50 nhl games to his name...... seems eerily similar to handing hall nuge and ebs 6 mil contracts.... gotta have mcdavid earn it...... a strong showing in the world cup could prove it i suppose

Yup. My lack of independent thought is validated, because of what people are saying on social media. So I must be right.
This is why guys like David "Avocodo" Wolfe become millionaires today.

Just to balance the reactions a bit. Would Edmonton rather have traded Hall for Larsson, or south for Hamilton? Arguably similar ceilings, similar growth at current, completely different styles of play. Not poking the bear, just asking. - FLflames34
I don't dispute his ceiling, nor his offensive upside. But in not a huge fan of Hsmiltons. Never have been really.
But in doubly biased as I've wanted larsson since the 2011 draft when we took nuge
But although the market was clearly steep and we don't know what else is even out there, we did overpay at face value |

I guess. I don't think it's a big deal either way, but I do think McD is the next C. |

You have to think he's got Lucic wrapped up.
Changes the image of the whole team if he signs.

His thoughts clearly aren't a mystery, but with that said, more gm blaming ?
Is chiarelli now worse than mact I wonder... |
