Yeah, see that's what I don't care about. When you have loads of cash ( in this case assets) , you can afford to over pay. The lopsidedness of the deal doesn't bug me if Larson can be a real deal player for us.
As for Lucic...well, if we do get him, I think we come out the week a better team, and that's all that matters. - Jeropotato
I think the Looch money will hurt EDM in the long run. Other players are going to need to be resigned. Plus you got Maroon whos not really a top 6 forward. But has had tons of time being the big body on a top line in Anaheim. Plus Kassian is still a work in progress. EDM got bigger and tougher. Strapping the team now for a result next year is a tough thought for me. The Hall for Larsson trade is already a crazy bold move. And one that likely needed to happen. If Looch is signed. I think another EDM forward is traded for sure. IMO atleast. |

We all said we would be fine with Hall going for the right guy. Larsson isn't that guy in my opinion. We still don't have a #1 Dman. Every team that has won the cup the last decade has had that 1 guy. - Iggysbff
well I still think Nurse will be that guy down the road. |

The only other forward I could see getting traded would be Nuge and I'm pretty hesitant saying that. Have McDavid and Draisaitl as the 1 2 next year I would think we would want to keep Nuge to help insulate those guys. I'm sure if Yak could fetch anything he would be gone.

I think Larsson will become a great number 1, but at this time this trade is ridiculous. |

This- I wanted larsson over nuge from day 1 and I've tried to follow him as much as possible.
But who has the time to follow your own team and watch the fuking Devils closely ??
90% of the haters don't have the first fuking clue
While I'll agree we shoulda got a pick/prospect added, This deal isn't as bad as it looks. And listening to a few devils fans opinions that I both respect and happen watch him lots, it sounds even better... - Ihateallofu
It's a no win situation with 90% of the people on the internet who are complete mindless idiots. Sheep who follow the popular narrative without actually thinking for themselves.
Is Hall better than and worth more than Larsson simply comparing the two? Absolutely.
Has Edmonton needed Dmen, and been trolled for.years now how these flashy scoring forwards aren't working? That's obvious.
Has what Edmonton been doing actually working? (frank) no
So now they pick up a dman who clearly fills a need and steps in and can play top minutes on the oilers and is a right shot, and all of a sudden the Oilers got raped and it was a stupid move, being stated by the exact same people who have been saying for years to change the core and the Oilers over value their forwards.
Probably best to just get banned for a week and take a break....going out with a bang of course. |

No idea what Armstrong was offering, but most St. Louis fans thought we would have to add Schwartz's rights to Shattenkirk in order to get Hall. - Antilles
That would have been a huge trade. But doubt that STL would even entertain the thought of both those guys in that particular trade. |

Nobody is saying its a good trade, but we could be a better team as a result, which is all that matters. Quit falling in love with players and worrying about wins and losses on the trade front. Worry about the games. - Jeropotato
Yes I guess you are right. Who else should we give away now? |

Wow. Don't check in on the Buzz for one day and look what happens.
FWIW Jersey is one of the three teams I watch religiously so I can say in all honesty that Iv'e seen quite a bit of Larsson and how he has progressed the last two years in particular. While I wish Chiapet had snagged a pick plus Larsson I am satisfied with the trade. Larsson is what the Oilers need now. He is only going to get better. And his contract is a gem.
We may have traded the better player but we are a better team because of it.
And good on Chiapet for having the (frank)ing balls to finally try and do something about the poop show that is the Oilers defence. |

Giving away would insinuate that we got nothing in return. Larsson is a solid young dman. If him and Klefbom can continue on an upward progression that will solidify our defense immensely. |

Give away? Jesus. Could we have gotten a better D for Hall? If so, who?
Or..could we have gotten Larrson or an equally competent defender for less than Hall? If so, who and for what?

Your team has been in the bottom 5 for how long? Give Larsson a chance, you'll see you didn't "give away" Taylor Hall. |

Ok so does that mean Oilers should trade talent at $0.40 on the dollar, just so we can make trades?
I am not the only one who feels Oilers got fleeced, blogs, polls, twitter overwhelmingly agree Oilers go raped. |
