I think both trades help both teams. I think you will be suprised by lars play. He got a lot of heat in his first few seasons but has really come to his own the last season and half. You are getting a very underrated player. I feel He still has untapped offensive potential.

End of the day, the oilers shoulda got more than straight up. They lost short term. But it wouldn'tve been more than a lower pick extra anyways.

Pretty much this. You would think the Oilers could have asked for NJ to sweeten the pot with a pick -- it would have taken a lot of the sting out of this deal IMHO.
