Larsson is a big loss for NJ's organizational depth on defense. The organization must be high on some of the other prospects. I'll be excited to see Santini in camp. Hope he can lock a spot down.

Gionta scored scored 48 goals for us in 05-06 and that was definitely the Lou era. It's bad enough we have other fans labeling us as "defensive" as if it were 1995 again, let's not do it ourselves. Devils don't prohibit goal scoring.

A Klefbom/ Larsson pairing could be great for a lot of years and they still have oodles of offensive forwards, it's a shame these Oilers fans are ready to throw themselves out of windows, I think once they see Larsson play they will feel a lot different.

No reason to be careful. Shero traded Staal to Ruth, but in hindsight, the most valuable player was Dumoulin. Shero blew the 1st rounder on Pouliot and took back a slug named Sutter. Sutter in name only. Frankly, it's a pretty even deal when you look at it.

Anyway... Nice deal for Ray. I'm going to enjoy watching Hall in the east.

I actually think the biggest part of that trade was getting the #8 pick that year, which turned into Maata. But maybe you value Dumoulin more lol.
