Slightly better offensively(not much) but worse defensively. he is still improving though and could be a better defender in a couple years. I guess EDM is banking on Lucic and Demers for next season.

Larsson was touted as the next great d-men when he was drafted in 2011, fourth overall, but has had a lot of growing pains. It looks like he's finally meeting a little of that potential everyone expected in the last year or so. I would still prefer Tanev (I think there is some untapped potential left in his overall game), however as he's already proven, although Larsson is at least quite young so I would imagine that was a factor that played into it.

Good thing LAK gave everyone permission to negotiate term and $ with Lucic in advance of July 1st. Otherwise you'd have to think this would be a genuine case of tampering.

Wow, the only thing I can think of is that Hall wanted out of Edmonton and let them know he wasn't going to resign and/or handcuffed them. This deal makes no sense whatsoever. I really feel for the Oilers fanbase, you'd expect that kind of return for Yak, not Hall.

Even if they get Lucic and Demers they aren't that much better off and now they REALLY are going to have issues with the expansion draft... now who do you protect??
