We couldn't give him 8 years, or a team he's been with his whole career that made the Cup Finals last years and the ECF this year.

Cap recapture only applies to contracts signed under the previous CBA.

i agree. its not really wild or excessive. the trouble will be seeing the ripple effects with signing other guys. but id have to imagine tampa is very happy. meanwhile toronto just sighs.
