I don't get either of these trades. They make no sense. NONE!!! there have to be 26 GMs out there looking at their phones for missed calls.
WTF!!! - mayorofangrytown
I mean Poile literally robbed Bergevin blind. He got hit with a puck in the eye and went blind in one eye a couple years ago. |

I'm opening a new restaurant in Montreal called Chez Weber. You bring us a gourmet steak and we give you back a hamburger that costs more. |

Sources indicate Canadian GMs may have been slipped stupid pills in their 3:30PM glass of water. |

He clearly took less to stay. He wouldn't have signed it with anyone else.
Funny thing is, that's actually a fair contract for what he provides objectively. |

Montreal rioted after Maurice Richards got suspended for pulling a Jesse Boulerice.
I see a follow up happening tonight; this has got to be more outlandish.
Could Bergevin be racist? I mean, I really can't think of anything else. |

We couldn't give him 8 years, or a team he's been with his whole career that made the Cup Finals last years and the ECF this year. |

Cap recapture only applies to contracts signed under the previous CBA. - MJL
The 2013 CBA states that any long-term contract — defined as seven years or more — entered into on or before Sept. 15, 2012, is eligible for cap advantage recapture if a team received a “cap advantage” from it at the time the player retires or defects from the NHL.
Wasn't Weber signed before the new CBA? |

i agree. its not really wild or excessive. the trouble will be seeing the ripple effects with signing other guys. but id have to imagine tampa is very happy. meanwhile toronto just sighs. |
