The time to Trayden Schenn for a 1st rounder was last Friday.

Maybe we could just Trayden Schenn for Kucherov and make it easy on ourselves.

Seriously, I hope that team goes to the poopter. I hope Subban demolishes Weber's stats year after year. PK was a fun guy, great teammate, generous, and one of the best, most talented players in the world. And all they could do was come up with new ways to slight him. He will be appreciated and thrive in Nashville.

...and to think the Flyers traded up to pick Kevin Marshall instead of Subban.

the Subban/Weber trade makes sense if it is strictly done as a culture change.

Could they have gotten more for PK? yes but if 1 for 1 got the deal done then it looks like MTL was trying hard to move on from PK. The way that locker room is going to look and feel is maybe more what the Canadians were after.

if you asked someone a week ago who would you replace Subban with throughout the league, yes there would be plenty of people saying names like doughty, keith or karlsson but you know weber would be a name in that list. maybe getting someone like him is just the icing on the cake for this situation

Palat then? I think he could use a little Sean Couturier reunion. They'd be a (frank)ing awesome 2-way duo. There's your top 6 LW to add to the core. They will lose him before Kucherov.

I feel like with Chiarelli doing his thing, Benning may be getting lonely. Schenn for Tanev?

Can someone explain to me what PK did in the locker room that was so distasteful?

I have decided I want Hexy to poach Lightning UFA Jonathan Marchessault as a cheap bottom 6 guy, 4C at worst. He's a fantastic possession player that wasn't given a fair shot. His scoring rates and shot generation rates are rock solid. He's smaller, but he's actually good defensively too and can be used on the PP2. He's a guy that could surprise with more consistent playing time. That's my low budget, potential high reward signing.

We can get more than one! Trayden Schenn for Palat/Kucherov, though it's risky because they haven't proven anything. Then sign Marchessault for pennies.

Marchessault is a UFA anyway. Seriously, he could be the bottom 6 center we need. Definition of buy low w/ potential.

Weber is still elite when the puck is in the offensive zone. When it isn't, is there a sizable difference between him and Schultz?

Not sure. What's the point of trading for a guy then if a team doesn't want to resign him or is having difficulty? Just wait and then get him without giving anything up. It'd be more wild west that's for sure.

Now please acknowledge Marchessault as a would-be savvy signing.

Our camp invites are kind of meh. It's funny that after focusing a bit more on size, 3/4 invites are 5'10". Maybe 1 interesting name in the mix, but nothing earth shattering. A 6'5" slug on skates with poor hockey sense according to Black Book, couple 19 year old WHL d men, and a 23 year old teammate of Ghost's from Union.
