Factor in the state taxes and the difference is a little more palatable. Its a 10 million contract in PA. - MBFlyerfan
So all we have to do is move the team, right? |

If Stamkos dies, or his career ends due to not receiving medical clearance, the Bolts are on the hook for the full contract? - PLindbergh31
Hopefully someone can answer that, because I have no clue. I just watch games with my eyeballs. I'm not one of those #fancystat, CBA memorizing types. |

Well, over the last 4 seasons Voracek does have more points than Stamkos. SO there is that narrative busting stat.

I don't know if that includes the injury season, but since his injury, they've scored at basically the same amount. Voracek is also a better all around player. Stamkos is a better scorer. They're really pretty equal players at the present point of time. |

I'm blown away by these deals today.
I saw eks blog and I read it and I couldn't believe it. I thought it was a joke. Only after I looked around and saw other blogs pop up did I realize it was true.
I actually think the Habs are the biggest goat. At least Edmonton has potential on its side.
The Habs traded a perennial Norris candidate for the next 5 years for a declining player who has legitimately lost a step. Still a damn good player. But there is no chance that this player is not a declining commodity.
Just insane |

I want to see Schenn for Shattenkirk and move Konecny into a top 6 spot and see if he can hang - black_francis
After today that would be a fair trade |

So Stamkos has basically the same cap hit as Voracek? Splendid - PLindbergh31
Stamkos in my mind is far and away more worthy of it. |

The problem with that deal in my mind is, neither player is putting their new team over the top anymore than they were about to put their last team over the top. |

If it's possible I actually think both teams are worse off on the ice. Salary cap wise the Preds clearly came out on top. |

I don't think Subban will stay loyal to them. His personality is too big. Too much ego. |

Agreed. Since the lockout Voracek has 244 points to Stamkos' 233
Its not an incredible difference by any stretch and Granted Voracek has played more games (there is something to be said for being healthy).
But to suggest that Stamkos is somehow way better than Voracek and try to paint Voraceks contract as a bad contract, which is what was being done IMO, just doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Time to make it happen. Then Trayden Schenn for a first rounder and we're all square! |

Playing in a Canadian market on a big stage like Montreal, I feel like he thrived on this. I could be wrong. |

The time to Trayden Schenn for a 1st rounder was last Friday.
Maybe we could just Trayden Schenn for Kucherov and make it easy on ourselves. |

Seriously, I hope that team goes to the poopter. I hope Subban demolishes Weber's stats year after year. PK was a fun guy, great teammate, generous, and one of the best, most talented players in the world. And all they could do was come up with new ways to slight him. He will be appreciated and thrive in Nashville. |
