Will they get up after getting nailed by Weber is another question?

Certainly, lots of big slow guys in the leagues these guys currently play in, must have hit them once or twice.

Weber is goddamn amazing, and it's not about the cap hit/money/contract or whatever.

Subban clearly annoyed both management and teamates with his attitude and we get a known leader in Weber.

But to me, there's no question about it, if it's not already the case, in 2-3 years down the line Subban will still be in his prime while Weber will decline, slowly but surely. He'll still be a good player, his positionning is too good for him to become useless and his shot will still be the strongest out there....

but he won't be P.K.

- Scabeh

Still think Bergy wasnt shopping PK? "They" are saying the deal began on the draft floor.
I agree with the above.
You'll miss PK, but you got a great player back for the next couple of years.

It's all fun and games my friend.

In other news, if Weber retires early, Nashville will cry.

Obviously I was wrong about him not being shopped actively.

There was probably a chance he would have stayed in Montreal if Bergevin didn't find a suitable offer... he wasn't going to give him away.

I'm a big fan of Weber and I know Price will benefit alot from having a big guy like him around his net.

Thanks for the overall moral support btw.

PK must be loving this.
He says he is going to a team that has a better chance at a cup and he just got a huge pay raise.

I was talking it out with a friend of mine last night and based on an assumption that the Habs have a 4 year window, it kinda makes sense.

I saw that posted in the Habs blog. I find it hard to believe that if Weber retires early these are the penalties.

It will just force him to the LTIR and then retirement, no big deal.

So if Weber retires before the LAST year of his contract,
Nashville is on the hook for $24MM cap hit?
That can't be right...

geez ...the more you look the worse it looks for Edmonton
Larsson had a PDO and on ice sv% spike that pretty much coincided with Schneider arriving ...and strangely "Broke out"

Also Severson is probably the better overall D from NJ ...

Its sad

Seeing people post the stats for Hall and other players production with/without him on the ice is Drysdale scored like crazy with Hall...not so much without him..

- senstroll

Hall will have a career year just like Subban will I think... 1) they have to prove their ex-team wrong and 2) they're on a better team..

It all depends on how he will play until he retires.

Unlike some, I'm actually convinced he'll stay a good player for a long time. Granted not as good as Subban will still be a at the same time but Weber, while slower and slowing down, has VERY good positioning that can compensate for losing speed.

My thoughts as well. But LTIR will handle that one.

Your friend was wrong. The Habs can't score as it is, and P.K. is a far better "puck moving defenceman" and generally drives offence far more than Weber.

Meh, played all the tough mins with almost 50% dzone starts...give the deal 1/2 a season before declaring it a bust.
