honestly, if it was the sign+trade, it'd make sense... whatever that shady back-room pay structure was would bridge the gap between what Tampa just signed him for, and what would make him the highest paid player in the league, like his agent wanted.


That being said... you guys remember how all season I was saying the Sedins were the closest example of big UFAs that signed so close to July 1st, and Stamkos could do the same?
