If they switched place with Vancouver, theres a chance the Oilers pick Dubois (who they want) and they end up with someone else.

If they trade down to 6th PLD is obviously gone.

So that leaves trade down 1 spot to 4th... you need the Oilers to want to give up something to make sure they get Pujuljarvi. Guess it was possible but unlikely.

JD was on 590 yesterday and said they were trying to trade down, right up until their pick, but they couldn't be sure PLD would still be there if they did, so they went the safe route. They must really like the kid.

I figured trading down to Vancouver it would have worked out for them...this is why you draft the best available player. Edmonton likely saved the bow wrapped on that gift..
