I like Downie but he's a bit of a head case and that leads to a lot of dumb penalties. Also, I truly believe once a player gets a bad rep the refs tend to hand out more penalties to them. Seemed to me like Downie was called for anything, everything and nothing at all, a lot.

I think Fehr is a better all around player than Downie anyway. Yeah, Downie might be tougher in that he has a mean streak but Fehr is no panzy. The whole Pens team was tough this past season, just not the fighting, gooning and disrespectful kind of tough.

The Pens need a guy to do some crazy poop sometimes to keep the mood up. Fehr is a panzy and downie has better hockey skills and is much more fun to watch. and hes cheaper.

Green is still decent... Korp is (frank)ing terrible.... hell, all of them but Greene were aweful last year.

I'd kick the tires on Matt Greene... he was only making 2.5 mil, so he could come cheap and be the 6th/7th man. Not ideal, but we are bargain hunting.

Not a bad move honestly. No one was gonna take Carle and they need that space more than ever now that Stamkos is a Lightning for life. They can't lose Hedman or Kucherov.
