my wish list for this off season: Kevin Shattenkirk, and Matt Martin. those are the only 2. Shatty with McD would be an epic pairing for many many years. if they can move G to clear up cap space I would happily trade a 1st for Shatty who is a proven 1st line Dman. and I believe he is a rangers fan so win win. And I would love to get martin under $2.5M - kill Glass(cap write off for loss of life) and we are good.

Is this the new NHL, where 4th line players make 3 to 4 million per...yet the cap basically stays the same each year

In order to win you have to have good minor league depth that can be called up on cheap deals and fill roles
