Whatever, maybe most of you are right and it'll be great, but my hunch is we're going to watch a Weber-Markov pairing get outplayed far more often than not.. Neither one can keep up with the play of faster teams - ehabs9
Weber has been one of the best defenseman while playing in the best division in the league with tons of skilled, speedy F, I wouldn't worry about him getting outplayed by anyone

Markov has been a great player for a long time, but let's be honest he's been falling down the line these past few years.
Subban has been paired with Gill and him a lot.
Weber? Suter for a long time, then sadly had to go to ROMAN JOSI.
Weber is a beast, but the Habs don't have anybody in the same stratosphere to pair with him, and this is him beginning to get out of his prime. - AdamFrench
CHI only scored 14 more goals than the Habs last year, with Kane and Panarin, while Habs had the worst season in a decacde.
Yes they need a scorer, but they needed leadership a lot more IMO. - fidopro
Hate to say..Laracque was right about PK being traded

He's not faster. He can apparently hit the net better according to a post above. He's gonna throw down. Blocking shots is one thing I don't know about PK. How better is he? 10 years better? He's gonna be a great player for 4 years. But PK is younger. That's the problem I think. And like grease(frank) said, if you trade PK, you trade him for pieces to rebuild. It's like trading Price for Bernier. Same player, just one is younger. - weirdoh

This is another good point. It will be the first time Weber doesn't have another amazing D-man beside him. Will have to see how he responds to having to do it all by himself.

Price isn't on Andersen's level obvie. - weirdoh
The Sportsnet draft coverage was embarrassing, them saying the Leafs got their "franchise" goalie in Andersen...(frank)ing eh. "Franchise" goalies the media has proclaimed in the past decade.

ah come on.... who do you think Josi learned from?

Hell, people were saying Sparks was the next "big one" after the first game he played - AdamFrench
Don't know who said that about Sparks...maybe, a little maybe you just say that. But what was (frank)ing great at the draft was how Auston Matthews was better the Ron Francis and Laine was going to score 700 goals.

Ok. Just know that every analyst, whether old school or analytics, have been sounding the alarm about this guy for 2 years. The organization he has captained and been a part of for 13 years just sent him packing for a more expensive player with a lesser reputation who plays the same position.
That should worry us. To say nothing of the fact that our GM and scouting staffs have proven to be appallingly terrible talent evaluators.

That's fair, but that doesn't change the fact that Josi is incredible, Weber didn't turn some turd into a diamond. Weber has always had another legitimate top pairing defenceman with him. Habs barely have anyone who qualifies as top 4

Honestly I think Andersen is better than all his recent predecessors. I like Morgan Rielly a lot, but if Lamoriello and James Mirtle's best bud Dubas don't bring him backup, the leafs won't allow that many less goals...

Weber didn't pass from Sutter to this year' Josi. Who was him playing with last year? and the year before?Suter left NASH 4 seasons ago!
