Ladies and gentleman.......we have a captain
- pete26

Pete gets it

We also have a pp and a player that can hit the net and make a first pass(instead of skating 3 zones and then make a spinorama only to lose the puck) and have a D that can clear the rront of the net and have a player that doesnt get 2 mins for unsportsman mis onduct... We do lose a flamboyant and fuunnnyyy guy...

Not a game changer or difference maker.

But hey - he was a Hawk, so MB will be all over it. Until Ladd uses the offer as leverage to sign elsewhere.

- Mashadar

25 goals and around 60 points with plenty of size and will to compete, if MB can grab him for anything south of 6 he would be stupid not to

This needs to be read with the voices of Bergevin and Therrien. LOL

Will admit to sometimes disliking PK carrying the puck, but to say he can't make a first pass is idiotic. He's amazing at it when he decides to do it.

Plekanec had 54 points last season. That's good enough to be a second line centre. He needs wingers.
- deadpoulet

61st for most points as a forward in the past 3 seasons in the NHL.

True. Now that we have replaced Subban with Weber our PP totally won't be one dimensional and predictable. And this will totally mean that Desharnais isn't the first Center over the boards!

Problem solved.

I must admit though that it's highly unlikely now that Chris Kreider will run Price and skate away like a ballerina

Whatever, maybe most of you are right and it'll be great, but my hunch is we're going to watch a Weber-Markov pairing get outplayed far more often than not.. Neither one can keep up with the play of faster teams

And he feels like it once every 20 plays(spinoramas)

Now what this team really needs is spend that cap space on a legit top scorer...

He's not faster. He can apparently hit the net better according to a post above. He's gonna throw down. Blocking shots is one thing I don't know about PK. How better is he? 10 years better? He's gonna be a great player for 4 years. But PK is younger. That's the problem I think. And like grease(frank) said, if you trade PK, you trade him for pieces to rebuild. It's like trading Price for Bernier. Same player, just one is younger.

With Weber more likely to stay back than Subban, I'd start Bauleau with him. Markov can't handle the minutes anymore.

Markov has been a great player for a long time, but let's be honest he's been falling down the line these past few years.

Subban has been paired with Gill and him a lot.

Weber? Suter for a long time, then sadly had to go to ROMAN JOSI.

Weber is a beast, but the Habs don't have anybody in the same stratosphere to pair with him, and this is him beginning to get out of his prime.

CHI only scored 14 more goals than the Habs last year, with Kane and Panarin, while Habs had the worst season in a decacde.
Yes they need a scorer, but they needed leadership a lot more IMO.
