I would do Yak for Jurco

There's no way Edmonton would even consider this. Yakupov is younger, is already a better player and the potential is not even comparable. I don't think Edmonton has given up on him yet.

TB could also gave them 1 extra year which would make it closer to 14M/year to equate monetary value. Then consider the weather, doesn't have to move his whole family... Did we really have a chance? Not if I was Stamkos.

Idk how it all works but it seems like their should be a clause in the CBA to even out these tax advantages. If we want parity in theeague they should minimize the factors controlling where people want to play. Just a thought.

Also i dont think the wings need a rebuild tbh. They have a lot of high end talent but lack superstars. Its hard to get but i dont think it warrents a blowup because none of our players have any value. Giving up our whole team would not give us that much imo. You mentioned ericsson howard and Z but im pretty sure all of them have NMC in their contracts so even still that wouldnt be possible unless they waived that. Im not a GM or a psychic so idk what the best plan is. But until we miss the playoffs for a few years i dont see a reason to panic. There are still some players who can make us better. Thats just me tho i juat dont think we are close enough like calgary or toronto were to have an effective blow up.

I think they are giving up on him hence why the Oilers fan is asking about a Jurco/Sproul deal for him. Jurco makes 900K and even if he isn't scoring he can still hit, and play some defense. Yakupov makes 2.2 million, hasn't done much since his rookie season, will need to be qualified at over that 2.2 million with a raise even if he craps the bed large next season (if you want to keep him) and there is a strong risk that he could end up running to the KHL after next season for more money and less games. Plus if Yakupov isn't providing offense, he is completely useless to a team.

Yak for Jurco might be worth the gamble for the Wings but I wouldn't give anything more for this gamble.

agreed nothing more, but i dont even think they do this deal anyway

im so torn the wings should just blow it up and get a 1st overall for once, or sign some UFA, because even if we got a few decent ones, were still gonna be super mediocre, and thars worse than being the worst

Oilers have for sure given up on him. Trying to squeeze as much juice outta that lemon in trade is the only reason he's still here.

Im an islander fan and i love matt martin but a team is going to make a serious mistake with him. He is an amazing guy off the ice he does so much for kids in the community, he always has time to stop for a picture or autograph and never seems to be in a bad mood if your a fan....

But on the ice hes not worth the big contract. Yes he leads the league in hits but what is that worth in todays NHL? Some team ia going to give martin 3-4 million a year. If he haa a good season and has 10 goals and 10 assists for a career high of 20 points is that worth 3 mil?

On a personal level i hope he gets paid, he has always been polite to me and my girlfriend when we have met him. But from a business stand point i just dont see over paying him

Chances are, if an NHL'er is nice to a dude and his girlfriend while out on the town, he wants to bang her.
