The gist was that Stamkos wants to be a Leaf, always has. Newport is adamant that the deal makes him the highest paid player so it has to be north of 10.5 aav. And the s&t is a real possibility as a solid to Yzerman.

Won't put all my faith into it but he was right about Babcock. Even after reports got out he was signing with Buffalo.

The Stars have aligned perfectly for Stamkos to come to the Leafs. The poopclouds hanging over this franchise have broken up and the sun is starting to shine once again. I love the fact that Blundels source is calling a sign and trade to the Leafs.

Anton Stralman was draft + 2
Carl Gunnarsson was draft + 2
Viktor Stalberg was draft + 2
Oh, and then there’s Rinat Valiev, draft + 1, as well as Viktor Loov.

Oh, Nikita Soshnikov and Nikita Zaitsev. They weren’t drafted by the NHL at all, ever.

Either way Tony, I hope the scouts got it right.

Well, the past regime drafting that got the team solid euro players. Without all the trading up for truculent plodders like Schenn and Biggs. I'm good with that.

By my count, 6 draft picks from this year are eligible to go straight to the A.

Reason they drafted so many older players is because they are going to flood their ECHL squad.

Well, the past regime drafting that got the team solid euro players. Without all the trading up for truculent plodders like Schenn and Biggs. I'm good with that.
