Dave Naylor on TSN radio also said this morning, that when Brian Lawton signed Stammer to his recent deal, he felt at that time it would be his last contract with the lightning.....that he was going to Toronto after that.
He was convinced then.

Their team will be great. No doubt.

If this is true, the deal would probably get done today or tomorrow morning at the very latest.

Yeah just not sure what it was about.

You have to think that Stamkos would be weighing the benefit of the extra year against making the Leafs give up a significant asset.

There is some smoke about this sign and trade stuff. We all know it never happens in the NHL, but I could actually see it happening, for a nominal return to Tampa like a Defense prospect and a 3rd or something. I doubt they take back Bozak or any other salary and I doubt the Leafs give up Kadri.

The Stars have aligned perfectly for Stamkos to come to the Leafs. The poopclouds hanging over this franchise have broken up and the sun is starting to shine once again. I love the fact that Blundels source is calling a sign and trade to the Leafs.

Rielly is probably the player I like the most on both team's defensive corps though.
