I think for me personally I don't care about the money as much as the term. I'd prefer they paid him 6-7 million if it meant less term in the range of 4 or 5 max years. I would also prefer no clauses in last year of contract if it could be swung.

As for the rest of the crowd, I think some may be accepting it just to move on from being disappointed Friday. It's one thing to female dog and moan but I think it's better to just accept certain things that are out of your control.

I'm gonna say that everyone is a bit on edge about the expansion draft and protection. Quite a few RFA's have been passed on so far and it could make for interesting Canada Day. Last year sucked.

I heard on the radio today, Ferraro, said a lot of guys like Justin Schultz from Pittsburgh didn't get qualified because it's a minimum 10% salary increase, maybe Calgary didn't want to give him that raise. He can still work out a deal with them however.

the salary cap that continues to screw the players over in new and creative ways with this getting bubble players to sign for peanuts.

also the pens have their cup win as leverage ...you want to play for a team that just won the cup take less or bye.....no "thanks for helping us win, heres a 10% raise".

Justin Schultz is a great third pairing d man. Just pay him and play him as one and you're good. Good on the PP... anything more and well.... look at the oilers.
