The Mayor was only involved to figure out how much rioting there will be.

Might have to plan a ring of honour ceremony if he plays here and punches out Ferland..

JB Is a fool if he signs Lucic or Loui for 6 years.
- VanHockeyGuy

Benning and Aquilini want to win games and make the playoffs, so don't be surprised at this point. TBH Lucic just turned 28 so he'd be 33 when the deal ended if it were a six year deal…28-29-30-31-32-33…not the end of the world.

Eriksson, sure, I can agree with that, six years at 31 years of age is too long. The more I think about it the more I really like the idea of Eriksson and Boedker.

Jim Benning's 'tampering' could cost the Canucks more than money - See more at: http://www.vancourier.com...sh.6LJ9TwYc.71n3Yiae.dpuf

The title is click bait, more or less he is talking good will and reputation of the management group.

Scooby mentioned Yzerman, and funny enough, I think I have more respect for JB. Yeah, maybe JB should be a little more tight lipped but he is a straight shooter and there appears to be more conviction behind his decisions.

pass the koolaid please

Erickson and Boedker is overkill. One of the two works and save some cap space.

Lucic vaults us into the top 5 toughest teams in the league.. The Sedins would help to keep him in check- and vice versa when the going gets tough and players are taking liberties.

Willie doesn't seem to handle slower players well- and if our UfA signing no matter who it is doesn't play well it may come down to a coaching change..

Yzerman should be more worried about letting one of the best players in the league go in free agency for nothing. As some of the other posters noted, imagine if this happened with one of the Canuck's top players, Benning would be crucified and run out of town

As far as his comments, though, if Benning didn't realize he was contravening the rules, he should immediately step down.

Perhaps, but if they really think they're gonna compete, they need two top six guys. As they only have two right now.

Top 6 players:

Sedin Sedin Sutter
Bae Bo

Not saying they are proven/ great top 6 players but don't forget Bo and Bae should improve this summer.

I think bae and Bo coeach get around 50 points, which is 2nd line production in todays NHL.

SOURCES: Maple Leafs met with Steven Stamkos at MLSE headquarters Tuesday. Also present: Toronto Mayor John Tory and CEO of Canadian Tire.

I would say with 99% certainty that the Mayor/CEO were there to tell him that if he signs they will bring him additional money. Yet Toronto will not be slapped with any penalties for cap circumvention.

I couldn't be more happy with the way Bo is progressing. He put up excellent numbers for a 20 year old playing with some average line-mates and without receiving much power play time. Jury's still out on Baertschi, though - hopefully he'll be able to prove himself this season. I'm cautiously optimistic that will happen.

From the last thread....no you're 100% wrong, he turned 28 on June 7th, three weeks ago. Unless his birthdays don't work like everyone else's?
