I agree with this.

Sportsnet production and analysts suck. Strombo did the best he could with the personnel that was provided to him. The sad thing is that Sportsnet kept the former GM of the Blue Jackets (forget his name) and Kypreos.

What a joke!!!

Strombolufagus had 2 years too many He is an arrogant jerk. He tried to show he was an expert and he did not know a hockey stick from a baseball bat. Bad hire to begin with and kept him way too long. Get some people who know hockey and are not in love with themselves. At least Ron and Don tell it straight and aren't a doofus hipster.

Ron Maclean had to start somewhere, it's not like he played professionally. Sure he refs minor/jr hockey but come on, he's a broadcaster first, much like Strombo. Strombo didn't have to pay his dues but as a host he was doing a great job, getting the proper info from the people around him like Hrudey and Friedman. Ron Maclean is ok, but its more a move to please those who are scared of anything different.

Kypreos and MacLean are what's wrong with that broadcast and until it is impossible for me to see either of them, I will not watch HNIC again. Well I will watch when the Jets play, but I will continue to mute through the between period banter between those hacks.

We used to get together and watch HNIC with friends every Saturday no matter which teams were playing that night, because it was nostalgic and enjoyable and fun, now it's a watered down crappy version of an NFL broadcast. Rogers and SN should just stay away from everything NHL. Unfortunately, that's not possible.

First off, Maclean is awesome. Sure, he's not played professionally but he's highly respected in the hockey community and has been a fixture in there for decades. With that experience comes knowledge and with that comes a plethora of insights that very few broadcasters can deliver. Strombo is a fan of hockey. He has ZERO connections with the hockey world and I can't imagine he has any respect there really as he just arrived on the scene the other year. Maclean is in another league compared to Strombo.

I don't know why you keep saying that people "are scared of change" or whatever. I'm not scared of change and I hated the move to Strombo over Maclean (obviously). If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Well, now it's broken and they're trying to fix it. There's nobody more qualified imo to host HNIC than Maclean, so why bother trying to find somebody else?

How is MacLean the problem? You just said that you used to get together and watch HNIC... Maclean's been around since 86-87. Was he a problem then or wtf?

how the f$%@ does Kypreos have a job still? Guy left the best part of his brain dribbling out his ears onto the ice in his last game.

The problem isn't the pre-game crew or some silly broadcasters, it is the product.

The game isn't as entertaining as it use to be. Game 2 of the finals was brutal! BRUTAL!

It was like watching an NHL team play a college team. I ended up turning the game off 2 minutes into the second period because the game was not entertaining.

I truly don't know how to fix the game or the entertainment value of the game. This was the first year that i did not watch the whole entire finals series.

I think the lack of entertainment combined with pricing the average Joe fans out of seeing games, in house, has hurt the overall ownership the fan use to feel toward their team, at least for me and my friends.

Fans will listen to intelligent criticism, but Healy and Cox were just trolls. They lack internal consistency in their comments, just responding as sensationally as possible to whatever happens. This day is long overdue.

So people will pay outrageous prices to see teams like Edmonton and the Leafs lose year after year, and people wear high ticket prices like a badge of honor, but they won't watch it on TV?

Out with the old and in with the OLD. Perfect about time, and before all else Cherry is a hockey icon enough said. As for Healy, good c-ya. That guy used to boil my blood, he spent a couple years crucifying James Riemer and what right does a career backup have to slam anybody, I know he got a cup ring, but he got it from handing water bottles to Mike Richter

I wish they gave Strombo another year and weather the internet backlash from people who fear change. He was doing a good job, and had a genuine energy that was lacking. Going back to Ron Maclean is even worse, I respect him as a personality but the show needs new blood.

Worst idea. Strombo sucks. His pants are too tight. He looks like hes trying to recover his youth. Hipster.
