I'm just trying to make sense of Ek's rumor since the B's reportedly don't have their 2nd/3rd next season....
For the 2015/16 season, the only offer sheet compensation schemes that don't involve 2nd/3rd round picks are:
Less than 1.2M = No compensation
Greater than 9.2M = 4 first rounders
....so either the B's need to reacquire their 2nd/3rd rounder or this rumor is like so many of Ek's other rumors. - magmoo
Nj and philly are the owners of those picks.
I was really hoping wpg had one of them.

As a Jet season ticket holder I want my team to bridge him at about $3 per he hasn't earned or shown that he deserves much more.
Granted he's played with Mark Stuart most of his 3 years or played the wrong side with Buff, but he has also regressed since year 1. Not a huge amount, but can't tell what the ceiling is or if we are close to it.
Someone wants to offer $6+ for a long term today could be signing a Dustin Brown type deal |

Boston doesn't need those picks, If they offer that much.
But trouba is not worth 9 million. If they offer up to 7.3 million, it's a first second and third. If it's 7.3 to 9.1 million, it's two firsts, a second and a third.
Trouba should be had for less than 7 million. I'd be comfortable with Boston giving up a first second and third for 6-6.5. But According to the rules, it must be their own picks and for the following season. So yeah it seems as though they cannot offer sheet anyone. Unless they trade back for their second and third picks lol. - Videoj
I personally think Trouuuuubbbbbsss is worth 11M a year. |

Krug accepts the 9.5M per year and is very excited to personally use the 4, 1st round picks, to ensure the Bruins management are not able to (frank) them up this time.... - MrBeanTown

It makes me uneasy that Ek isn't linking FAs I dislike to my team. Makes me think we might sign them. |

The Sabres already have enough Centres in Eichel, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Ennis, Girgensons... All these guys are natural Centres, if anything they should be trying to add wingers like Okposo, lucic...
Should be but even TSN is reporting that Sabres are in on Stamkos. They are apparently willing to go as high as 12 mill to get him and honestly, if they get him. That meants they can trade one of the other 2 for a winger upgrade that is better than FA pool has available |

What are the draft rules for next year. Does Vegas automatically get #1 overall? |
|
|
|
Ek.
Hate to confuse the issue with facts but here are the compensation requirements to offer sheet a player. They have to be your own picks in the year of the offer, so 2017 draft picks.
Amount Compensation Due
$1,205,377 or below None
Over $1,205,377 to $1,826,328 3rd round pick
Over $1,826,328 to $3,652, 659 2nd round pick
Over $3,652,659 to $5,478,986 1st and 3rd round pick
Over $5,478,986 to $7,305,316 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick
Over $7,305,316 to $9,131,645 Two 1st’s, one 2nd, one 3rd round pick
Over $9,131,645 Four 1st round picks
The only offer that Boston currently would qualify for is the compensation over 9,131,645 |

Oh lovely. Figured this may be the 1 year NHL can keep teams from intentionally sh!tting the bed. |

Reinhart is playing RW, yet to play C in the NHL, O'Reilly played the better part of 2 seasons as a LW in Colorado, Girgenson's has a year & a 1/2 playing as a RW in Buffalo. Yes all are natural centers but that accounts for about 65 to 70% of all NHL players. Move back through their Minor hockey rep days & almost all were centers at some point & were forced to move to the wings as the quality of the game & players improved moving to Midget Major, Minor, Hockey academies & into junior.
Numerous teams dress regualr centers as wingers. SJ plays Pavelski as Thornton's RW on most teams in the NHL he would be their #1 C. Marleau plays LW with Couture, played C when Couture was injured this year. Not a big deal & a wonderful luxury to have. Some teams struggle just to ice 2 decent centers & when injures hit have zero depth to address. |

Let's all read that troy Brouwer part again ..blues would like to move shattenkirk to retain Brouwer , some think shattenkirk will be moved as early as today ...Montreal and Tampa are among the teams who like what brouwer ?? brings to the table ???? , clear indication the writer does not have a clue what their even talking about . Blues want to retain Brouwer by moving shattenkirk so I think Montreal and Tampa are the teams that like what shattenkirk brings to the table not Brouwer right ??? What a confusing read that was |
