Sorry for the aside, but I may be more excited for PUJU than I was for McDavid. Last year, I didn't want to believe or buy into the hype that surrounded McDavid. I tried to hold my expectations back to make sure I wasn't disappointed. With PUJU next to McDavid, I just can't help but be stoked as (frank).
It's dawning on me how much this pick is gonna help in the future. |

Pending the final line up. I get the ideas of having him there. Especially if it's Maroon on the other side. But I think if Eberle is still here id prefer to keep him with McDavid and put Pulju on with Hall and Drai. |

I know the following has nothing to do with what's being talked about here, but to me, I don't think Demers is the answer as a top pairing defenseman or as you state "a neccesity". Could fit as one of the pieces though.

Don't the Oilers like to deal with Ottawa? And wasn't Chia the assistant GM in Ottawa some time ago? Hmmmm... Just Imagine Karlsson and McDavid on the same team! Dare to dream...
Anyways, I know, I know, crazy talk and probably wishful thinking but still fun to drool over the possibility.
What would you need to give up to get him? I'm assuming Hall and RNH at least.

The price likely starts with Hall, Nurse, and our 2017 1st. Even then I don't know that they do it. Maybe they want Drai over Hall for the cap savings because they're a budget team, as you mentioned. It wouldn't make sense for them to move him, though.
