Me too. I think partly because he was sheltered behind some great dmen. Seems to have really come into his own, and he can grow one hell of a beard.

It's amazing how quickly size can go from one of the primary concerns on the roster to a complete non-issue in a matter of a year. Adding PUJU, Maroon, Kassian, and now maybe Lucic with Draisaitl and Pouliot to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if we were among the biggest teams in the league.

We've also got speed which mitigates any concern that Chiarelli is too invested in old style hockey. All the team needs now are 2 goddam Dmen.

I like Demers...... 77 D-men averaged more ice time last season. In one way, that makes 60 as top 2, and about 17 teams 'top 3' D-men in - of course its not the case that there are 90 top 60D. Demers. I think 5 years @3.6M is fair but any more than that and how much can you pay for a guy that might not be a top 4 on a contender.

How many people actually think PC and the Oilers can afford to enter another season without a top pairing right hand shot D-man (perhaps a strong number 3 like a Stralman)

The ridiculous trade scenarios are coming from every team and on all players. It used to be restricted to a few of the usual suspects. The derp from fans has always been there but it has reached epic proportions from bloggers which in turn makes it worse because most mouth breathers consider them legit sources.
