He was not a good crease clearing d-man, did not get into dirty areas. He needed to be a point producing D-man. The points never came.

He and Kulikov put up the same amount of points/ Points per 60, but Kulikov gives you a lot more jam, even if he fights as well as Mike Weber.

i dont think anybody expected him to be a big point scoring defenseman. hes a mobile defensive defenseman that helps in transition. he was told to play tougher and he didnt. i remember hearing when he was in rochester that the amerks D were extremely bad at clearing the shooting lanes/net except for bagnall. it doesnt really matter, there was 3 or 4 things working against him- expansion, right handed, casey nelson, the last of darcys trash, and not being good at clearing the crease. as for the collier point, i found it extremely annoying because he was wrong AND he just kept harping on it. look, your little advanced stats darling is starting to look like a 3rd pair, the goalies are calling him out in post games because they cant see the puck.
