Come on kid ..........take off the Sabre blinders for once. With Stamkos they are a legit contender and keep their streak of playoff runs for another 7-8 years.

They are the model franchise. They draft fantastic, they develop like no other and they NEVER miss the playoffs. All things the Sabres and everyone else strives to be.

All of those household names from Detroit that have either left or are getting old ................ they'll be replaced no problem. Already in the system likely.

Larkin, Nyquist, Tatar, and Mantha are as good of prospects as we have most likely.

Adelkader, Zetterberg, and Franzen are good depth vet guys.

Their D is very shaky with Quincey MAYBE coming back then Kronwall, Dekeyser is good, Smith, and Ericsson.

Mzarek is a big upgrade over goalies for us or Toronto.

Depending on the assets, Id say Shattenkirk.

That's not a knock on Stamkos, I want him here but my position has always been that eichel/reinhart can make their wingers look better than they are and as such you don't need to invest heavily in that particular area. Shattenkirk has what we desperately need on the blue line.
