That's the thing.

They all didn't get QO so they are pretty much looking at show me deals. Same boat as Del Zotto when he didn't get QO from Nashville

I think the intent of the teams non-tendering them was to avoid potentially harsh arbitration awards. Both Boston and NJ's management express interest in re-signing the guys they non-tendered. Hell, NJ just traded a 3rd rounder for Beau Bennett.

But if I was one of those guys, I'd definitely wait until free agency before re-signing. Why reward a team whose sole purpose in non-tendering you was to eliminate your arbitration rights?

Connolly doesn't seem to be able to score goals at the NHL-level.
- Tomahawk

It wouldn't be a stretch to see him potting 10-15 goals next yr, plus we could get him for about 1.5-1.8 if I was guessing.

That's my thing. If I was just allowed to be a FA, I understand my former team might like to sign me, but now I have options. better chances for more ice time or better roles.

Two years at $3.3m for McGinn. Trade Streit at 50% + 4th for Dwight King.

I don't think Leier is just a 4th liner though. That's why I asked. I think Leier fits in a 3rd line top 9 role, almost what Read's role was when he first got here

I don't see Weal in the top 6 so he'll be competing with guys like Leier, Laughton, Cousins, Bardreau, maybe Martel or any other young players or possible FA brought in

- J35Bacher

I think Leier is a bottom-6, Weal is a top-6. There's some crossover, but Leier could fit on the 4th line, but I don't think Weal would.

That's a good comp. Maybe Schenn takes 5 x $4.75m which lets him become a UFA at age 30.

I think anything up to 5 x $5m is fair value.

- Feanor

I think 5 x 4.75-5.25 is very fair and a price that doesnt prevent him from being traded in the future or hurt the Flyers cap wise. anything higher id rather just bridge it and trade him later. if he puts up again he is over 6 million, so I think he should sign for 4-5 or the writing is on the wall

The Flyers had 2 mill at each parade and have fans all over the world but the Philly media consider hockey to be minor in Philly. Their beloved Sixers have struggled historically to draw 10,000 fans and had 4,000 at a playoff game. The Phils have always drawn between 12,000 to 17,000 fans except for the years of new CBP and the championship. The Eagles and Flyers have always been consistant with attendance.

The six-game Penguins/Sharks Stanley Cup Final averaged a 2.3 rating and 3.9 million viewers on NBC, per Nielsen fast-nationals

The series averaged 20,166,000 viewers and an 11.3 U.S. rating for its seven games, the most-watched NBA Finals series since 1998.

That's why

I think Schenn's camp noticed the Forsberg deal. 6 years at 36 million.
- J35Bacher

lol, no doubt.

I think he's between Shaw and Forsberg, so 5x4.5

I've felt, from the day it was signed, that Nazem Kadri's deal would be the comparison for Schenn
- Jsaquella

Probably the best comp for him

not bad, my preference would be to keep schenn with coots, give mcginn time with g and simmer. or move voracek back up with G and mcginn and slide simmer back with coots and schenn. i remember liking that 10-14-17 last year. maybe voracek needs to be back with G to approach his numbers from two years ago.

wish trevor lewis wasnt signed, was holding out hope for him on our third line. wouldnt mind dwight king tho, or Colton Sceviour, or even Alex Chiasson, granted the price is right. Neilsen is also on my wish list but he may be too expensive.

Agree.

I think that "crossover" spot will be where this is the competition.

What do you think he's going to get? His last deal was two years at $2.95m AAV.

he will easily get 4 years and 4mm imo. likely higher....if he settles for a 1 year deal if he prices himself out don't see the flyers as a destination.

You don't think he will want and get at least a 1mm raise?

i dunno...the more i picture it the less i see it working. it either makes pirri a liability, or gives coots a weapon...i dont really see how a guy thats as sheltered as he is is that bad at possession. i think im sticking to my guns and saying soft pass
