Every draft leaves fans with that empty feeling.

All the excitement leading up to it, and then the grim reality that these kids are at least 2 years away from playing in the NHL, and 4-6 years away from having any real impact.

It's like opening your presents at Christmas, and just getting IOUs for a bike, a train set and a Stretch Armstrong.

"Merry Christmas, Buddy. I promise you can play with this stuff in 2-6 years. Or maybe not."

- Atomic Wedgie

Stretch Armstrong!

I like that they acquired Rychel though! But yeah, I was more excited by the 2015 draft, much more upside I think anyways.

So far the 2016 Draft has an many NHL games as 2015

excluding the 1st round...because it seems like its just the way it goes.. I bet the 2016 draft produces more NHL games than 2015

Same here...but beyond the first round...I really know poop about the players...we all pretend we do

You look for upside because like you and all of us here, we really don't know these players, the only one besides Matthews that I see some excitement about is the goalie, other than that, I don't know.

I liked Auston Matthews.

Something tells me he might be pretty good.

The Komarov like player? If he is anything like Komarov than it's okay.

What about the 31st pick?

I am going to guess they made a good pick in Korshkov. I dunno, just a feeling.

lol, no outrage, I just found last year's draft more like the Tampa Bay, Detroit approach, while this year's more like well....past Leaf regimes

What was the last 1st overall that was even debated? I have to say Tyler Seguin and Hall. Even then, I think everyone knew Hall was going #1.

I'd say RNH and Yakupov were not obviously #1.

My team totally won the draft when we took Vladimir Neverheardov in the 7th round.

The other 29 GMs should resign for letting this guy fall so far.

TOTAL STEAL OMFG!!!!!!!!!

Really? I remember them, at the very least, being pretty much consensus #1s at the time of the draft.

Could be wrong
