you need to remember that qualifying offers must be 10% more than the previous salary unless they made over a million the previous year. then its only 5%.

i imagine the leafs might still wanna sign these guys but not for the minimum qualifying offer.

yeah... cap management has become so important that its better to risk losing an asset to try and get him on the cheapest deal possible

at 170lbs i dont think he really fits where the leafs see him playing moving forward

with the young talent the leafs have at forward for the future top 6 leivo would be at best a 3rd or 4th line checking winger.

and at 170... he really doesnt fit the role physically
