Just to clarify, this is Nuck's Misconduct list. I just thought it was likely more realistic than some of the scenarios posted in this thread.

My preference would be to sign a shorter term agreement with a good 2 way player like Frans Nielsen. We aren't really competitive enough to commit to a long term free agent IMHO.

Dorsett's AAV is 2.65. I've always disliked that contract and its 1 mil less than what he speculated for Martin. No thanks!

I think that's a fair statement. I wouldn't mind signing a young player for longer term under the right circumstances. Boedker is only 26 and if he were to be more consistent and find a way to pot 20-25 goals then sure but I'd still be hesitant to sign much longer than 4 to 5 years so when it expires he still has value to be traded in final year of contract.

There are a few RFA's out there that could be had for cheaper than these guys in their 30's expecting 6-7 years and 5-7 million.

If Benning wants to stay competitive and please FA then sign young guys that won't handcuff the team going forward. I'd be totally fine with modified NTC's for the right guys. Pirri (25), Boedker (26), and Connolly (24) may not be the best options but the fit the team going forward way better. Plus, if they don't work out they can still be traded for picks at the TDL or Draft.

If Benning signs someone like Erikksson it better be a deal like Vrbata got with a maximum Modified NTC or we will continue to get mocked around the league by fans and GM's.
