He's going to the Leafs. I've been saying it since last summer when my buddy golfed with Don Meehan...I mean cut his hair.

Meehan said 99.9999% he's going to the Lesfs.

Sounds like there might have been some tampering going on from the Maple Leafs, if that's the case.

I don't mind the Helm idea, if they could bring him in at around $2.5. He's versatile and his production isn't much below guys who will command a lot more, like Brouwer, though he's also smaller.

I like Ladd in principle, too, but I think he'll be too expensive.

I think Eriksson will be great for 2-3 years, but what about the 3-4 years after the Sedins retire?

Tough decisions...

Everyone's favourite Botch seems to think Hansen will be with the twins again this year.

I like Helm as a 4 th line center. 15 goals would be just fine

If Eriksson is still around and still playing well I don't see much of a problem there, you simply transition him down the lineup like most ageing players. My requirement for that would be that he only signs for 5 years, mind you.

RT @mirtle Bruins do not qualify Brett Connolly or Landon Ferraro. Lot of quality young players without contracts due to cap crunch.

The problem is, you know there's going to be a team that meets his term requirements AND salary overpayment. That said, I actually don't have that much of a problem with the term, other than Eriksson's issue with concussions. He's already suffered several and it could spell the end of his career if he sustains another one. Ideally, it would be great if we got him for a four year term at around the $6 million mark (which I highly doubt will happen, though). It would be interesting to see if the Sedins and him were able to weave some of the same magic they did internationally.

He turned down 4 years from Boston saying he wanted 6, so my hope would be that he would take 5 to play with the twins, assuming we are willing to overpay to what he wants, which we should be given our cap space.

It's astonishing how much Connolly's value has diminished since he was drafted and touted as a possible future star. I wouldn't mind the Canucks taking a flyer on him - low risk/higher reward type of situation.

This is really tempting . Vanek 3 years 3 mil per. Helm 3 x2.5 per. Connolly and Ferarro 1x1.5 . Let them battle it out at camp.

Eriksson and Lucic and throw Helm in the mix.

No to Boedker , Ladd and Vanek…

Not really a fan of keeping Hansen with the twins with Eriksson available. If Eriksson signs here and plays away from the twins don't waste the cash. With Gudbranson here on the back end I would like to see Lucic on the front end…probably won't happen though. Helm would be an excellent pickup who could also do 3rd line duties when injuries hit…and they will. Helm being one of the fastest skaters in the league as well which we sorely need.
