yeah more likely to be a 5 year deal, I'd be happy with 27.5 - Senor_Elias
He seems to like being back home, has family and friends to the games a lot from what I've seen in interviews so I don't think he will have a problem sticking around long term. But there's no way his agent is going to let him take less than anywhere between 5-6 million a year, and if he does, Palmieri should fire him. |

That's why we need John Carlson. Grew up as a Scott Stevens fan and has a great cap hit. He would be another RHD though, and Washington would be crazy to give him up. - Mr.Bobby
my buddy actually grew up with him and they're good friends, I (frank)ing hate Mattias Tedenby |

No poop. That was probably Contes worst moment. I remember everyone assuming Carlson was a great pick for NJ, then everyone was like who the (frank) is Mattius Tedenby. |

Who would you say he played the most time with when he was playing lol Because if he can't stay healthy and was a winger for Malkin or Crosby I am a little worried his stats might be a beneficiary of one of those two guys. - blizzzard
He never really had consistent line mates, definitely saw time with Crosby and Malkin but not consistently enough to establish much chemistry, but that is mostly because he was out of the line up more than he was in |

I wanted Chychrun at 12 but after a few more Defensemen were taken before him I feel better taking McLeod.
I don't think Brown was ever an option because of the system Hynes has, I think it was A. Keller, B. Jost, C. McLeod. Once those two were gone and they realized OTT was taking Brown and could still get their guy and a pick they did so |

Was this trade not made so Shero could justify drafting him in the 1st round?
But I wish him well in NJ. 20 pts and couple of injuries in 40 games should be the best you could expect from him |

Beau always broke our hearts. It was like a vicious cycle:
1) Start of slow
2) Starts producing
3) Gets injured
If he can find a way to stay healthy he'll be a force, no doubt about that. I think he could easily be a 20G player. Just don't get too excited if he starts playing well, because it's just a matter of time. |

We'll see what happens with Beau Bennett, but Jacob Josefson started his career incredibly injury prone as well. He's been more durable lately so maybe we'll get lucky. We can have the JJ vs. BB Injury watch where fans can bet how many games each will play... |

I'm a little surprised he didn't need off-season shoulder surgery. Rumors were floating around that he was trying the rehab route instead of ending his season last year. I guess he was successful in avoiding the knife.
Anyway... He's got good vision, better passer than shooter. Average skater. Hopefully he has a better run of luck in Jersey.
Edit: Hynes would be wise to let him play RW. I think he spent the majority of his time at LW and he's clearly not comfortable there. I'm convinced that's something that held him back in Pittsburgh (other than injuries of course). |

I don't know. He makes sense age and speed wise but I fear we will just have to many of the same player. A bunch of third line tweeners. We need to move a pile of our average stuff for a smaller pile of someones good stuff. Not keep diluting everything we have like coke dealers. - blizzzard
Beau is definitely a skill guy. Injuries were his biggest problem. Also would have helped if he could play LW as he's been stuck behind guys like Neal, Hornqvist, Kessel, etc. Hope the guy has some good health for a change. He can definitely play, was just time for a change and he doesn't really fit the top speed game they are playing. |

highest I've seen any overall prospect ranking for us in years - Senor_Elias
That was nice to see. Now we need to be patient and watch it grow. With all the salary cap room, no stars coming here (Stamkos, etc.), hopefully Shero smart enough not to just overpay someone (I believe he is) to come here, I would love to see Shero use an offer sheet to get some more high end talent in here. Wishful thinking....

Biggest problem with Beau is that he's getting really frustrated. He's almost retired twice now due to injuries. He actually tearfully apologized to Pens fans when he got injured during the preseason. That said, when his confidence is there I see a a guy who is extremely slippery/smooth with the puck and is not afraid to play the boards. Could be a very good player if the confidence in his body holding up improves
Great kid. Very good move for New Jersey |
