The report the #stlblues asking for Dylan Larkin for Kevin Shattenkirk is humorous and untrue #NHL

That's insulting to Gordie to put the 2 in the same sentence. - Hockeytown4life
Besides the fact that Lindros was a douche, no it's not.
Lindros was absolutely dominating, huge and an elite NHLer when healthy.
He was a tough SOB that would put you through the boards as well...
It's not insulting at all!! |

I dont think its "insulting" but i definitely disagree, gordie howe was a better player than lindros,
Im on the fence about him being in, had he played more games i believe he would be an open and shut case, just in and no questions
he certainly killed it in the games he played, but i think the issue is, i dont think other players with the similar stature should be in either and it should be a harder to get in for everyone
cam neely and pavel bure being in makes it hard to argue why lindros shouldnt be, or osgood really?
My Opinion is that none of them should be, cam Neely or Pavel Bure shouldnt, nor should Lindros

Doubt they're out of it after July 1st either. It's perfectly reasonable to believe he will see what the other offers are, and then resign with TB anyway. It's not like the bolts are likely to pull their offer for him as soon as it hits July. |

"They will be Fransoned" which refers to Cody Franson who turned down bigger money early last year and had to take a small 1 year deal or risk no places left to play.
Pretty sure Franson signed a 2 year deal for over $6.6mil - but why let facts get in the way of a good story |

Are the Blues crazy enough to think Shattenkirk is a young Al Macinnis or something of that caliber? If so, wow...to ask for Larkin is just insane.
In regards to Eric Lindros, I still don't believe he should be in the HOF. If anything, I'm of the opinion that Chris Osgood deserves to be in the HOF before Lindros.
Lindros:
Games Played: 760
Goals: 372
Assists: 493
Points: 865
Awards: 1 Hart Trophy & 1 Pearson Award
Osgood:
Wins: 401
Playoff Wins: 74 (More than Jacques Plante)
Cups: 3 (1 Game 7 away from 4 in 09)
Career GAA: 2.49
Career SV%: .905
Awards: 2 Jennings Trophies
Yes, I know this is going to be a constant debate as it always seems to be, but the stats are along the lines of the Mike Vernon's, Curtis Joseph's, & Tom Barrasso's of the world, but with more accomplishments to go with it. Heck, Datsyuk has 918 career points, and I don't think he should be in the HOF.
Am I bias? Sure...that's a fair assessment since I saw him play quite a bit, but even still...Ozzie should get in before Lindros for doing more during a career''s time. - Hockeytown4life
While the goalie vs. forward comparisons are like apples to oranges....
Osgood was never considered the best goaltender in the league during his prime (or in the conversation). He has the hardware (cups) tho.
However, Lindros was always in the conversation for best player in the league in the mid to late 90s.
He won the Hart and Lester in '94-95 and would have won the art ross if goals weren't more valuable than assists
Led the playoffs in scoring in '96-97
First team all-star in 94-95, 2nd team in 95-96
PPG: 4th in 93-94, 1st in 94-95, 3rd in 95-96, 2nd in 96-97, 7th in 97-98, 6th in 98-99, 9th in 99-00
Maybe its the attitude aura because with stats, his case could easily be argued against those of Bure and Neely

If stamkos wants an 8-year deal, he has to sign it before july 1.
I can’t imagine is agent will allow that opportunity to be missed if TB is his choice.

So the price for an all-star, top four defensemen has gone? A midround and late round first rounders is supposed to be great?
A proven quantity has more value. |

Quoting goalie stats in the 'Dead Puck Era' is similar to bragging about bagging your sisters fat friend. Nobody is impressed.
Osgood was a mediocre goalie on a good/great team. |

Where did this Fowler rumor start? He is not currently a free agent! Why would Anaheim trade him? ...to sign Holzer? I don't think so!

What exactly did he dominate, per say? He has nothing to show for it other than a Hart Trophy, which even Jose Theodore won in his career, doesn't qualify him right off the bat for the HOF.
His "domination" was four 40 goal seasons (heck, Tony Amonte had 3 of those and 35 more career points), that's it. 97 was the furthest his team ever went, and was swept, so to truly dominate, you have to have something to show for it other than goals and one MVP trophy, in my opinion. |

TB has 4 more day to sing Stamkos.....if not, I don't think there is a chance he is going to to back. Makes no sense!
No, what doesn't make any sense is at this point in the free agency clock for Stamkos to sign an extension now without knowing what else is out there. Only way he was signing early or earlier was Bolts matching Toews/Kane deals which they don't seem willing and/or able to do. So now Stamkos, who in many does absolutely want to stay, plays a waiting game of sorts to find out just how big the difference in the Bolts offer vs his free agency offer(s) and whether that difference is enough to make him leave. |

2 top 6 RW and a top 10 pick for a good young D, a castover and a 2nd rounder.
Edmonton will never make that deal. |

As a Devils fan I saw a lot of Lindros growing up. He was dominant, no idea how he compares to Gordy Howe since they peaked in different eras, but when healthy I've got no problem with calling Lindros one of the top 5-10 forwards of his generation, and I hated the SOB. |

We wanted Hall or Eberle for Shattenkirk. Not a far cry IMO. Dylan Larkin though from Det? haha. Even from STL's side I wouldn't have even asked.
General consensus in STL is our GM is more useless than t*ts on a wild boar. - WhatAboutBawb
