So what do you want them to do? Trade Patrice and plummet? Whats a rebuild in your mind... They are doing it right now and remaining competitive. I dont see what is wrong with that...

They traded Lucic at the right time to get the rebuild started and they stocked up with prospects for their system.

Your going to waste away more than two years if you go into Tank mode. They know what they need to do and that is to improve the defense which they are trying to do. Honestly, Patrice is not going to accept coming in dead last. The man tries in an all star game.

They have one strength. Down the middle. Krejci and Patrice.. And Hopefully Tuukka can turn it around next year because he was bad last year.

yeah....comparing the bruins to detroit is a not even close. They turn their prospects from all different rounds of the draft into nhl players, and their GM actually wins trades or at the very least it comes out as a wash. Holland doesnt trade 3rd rounders for Rinaldo types. Big difference in the two clubs, and Sweeney + Neely do not equal Holland.


Edit: In comparison, the bruins develop their 1st and 2nd rounders, some pan out, some dont. For the prospects that do pan out, 4 out of 5 are traded or let go once their ELC expires, or are buried in the minors because Julien does not want to play them.

Yes, every team is in the NHL is constantly rebuilding. I dont think the Boston Bruins need to sell off there best players to get back to where they want to be. Is that hard to grasp? They have a core in place (Patrice, Krejci, Marchand, Tuuk? Hopefully) that can be successful in the NHL but they need to improve the defense.

Honestly, I dont know. They seem to be trying pretty hard to get a defense man without paying too much. They outright said teams wanted Pasta and they werent trading him. Which is good. No one is giving them credit for that.

I like what the new GM of Arizona has done thus far for them and i wish the Bruins were that aggressive. They need to be. Would have loved Golisgoski at 5.4.

Not trading Pasta for Shats should be a no brainer. I wont give any credit to a GM for saying no to an obviously lopsided trade. That should be an easy part of your job. Its like applauding a fat kid for only eating 9/10 of the cake instead of the whole cake.
