I think they get paid on a bi-weekly basis like a lot of us schmucks. So I suspect it's based on the time that he's on the active NHL roster. So if he hangs around for the first 6 weeks he'd get 3 nice big paychecks.

I think I read that they get paid over the 6'ish months of the season. So ...6 weeks out of (call it 28 weeks) = 6 x 925000 / 28 = ~200k. Not bad for 6 weeks work.

Head back to London (if they sent him back) and pick up your new Audi R8. Ruin the lives of many a young teenage girl and get ready for next year.

Think bigger my friend. Lupul on the roster next year costs 5.2 in Cap space. Lupul can be replaced next year by someone making a million. Therefore, Lupul being bought out is Cap savings.
