thats a misconception...junior teams do no pay salaries... more like a compensation package

the knights have to give him 50$ a week for spending money and up to $470 in compensation for cost of living (food etc)

junior teams also give $1000 for offseason training i believe is where it stands at nowadays

Either the leafs overpay and sign him for 7 years where he will be decent for 2-3 years then the media and fans will turn on him.
Or
He doesnt sign with the leafs where he will be great for 3-4 years and media and fans will go on about how the Leafs missed another big fish.

I think its Tampa or Toronto. I agree with what Wedgie has been saying all along - does he want to be a Maple Leaf or not. That's all it really comes down to. As many are pointing out, Toronto offers long term income possibilities (a la Wendel Clark or Darryl Sittler) that is unmatched anywhere else.
