sure..but thats not what is causing the issues...or at least what is floating out there.

Romero had problems with both knees that affected his pitching

- senstroll

I hope Stroman turns it around, but ive been saying all along hes too (frank)ing cocky.. he's gotta back up that confidence with performance. he shoulda listened to papa Bhurle

Kessel was actually the perfect guy for the Toronto market.

He didn't give two poops what the media said.

- Atomic Wedgie

Can't agree with you there Wedgie.

lol..

while i agree with the first two points..

the draft "playbook" incident im sure has no bearing on Stamkos in TB.. That was a big (frank)up tho.. I think how they treated past star players might be weighing on Stamkos mind a bit tho.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

It is relative - it shows incompetence and lowers confidence. And I agree, the way they treated Lecavalier and St. Louis is probably a consideration.

Some questions on ELCs:

Marner signed one last summer. Did he get paid? Did last year count, or does the 3 years only start when he plays pro hockey?

- Atomic Wedgie

Contract slides a year. They never get the NHL $$ until they turn pro. Assuming he's on board this year his ELC will run for 3 years.*

*I think.

He's had 8 starts to figure it out.
He improved a bit yesterday...but it may be time for stint in barffalo over the break.
Bring up Hutchinson.

Besides, the majors are not the league you try to figure things out in....thats the minors.
Jays dont have time for guaranteed losses right now.

- Fakepartofme

and he hasnt been bad in all 8...I just dont see the need to do anything yet.

The faced Sale yesterday, no teams are beating him at the moment. a different pitcher and the Jays might have been able to win that game...with Stroman still struggling but didnt blow up

this is correct
- Dozzer

So Marner has a million reasons to work hard this summer.

OK - next question:

What if he plays the first nine games and is then sent down.

Do the 3 years slide?

How/how much does he get paid?

True.
But thats not what ruined Romero.
It was all mental for him.

- Fakepartofme

oh...well then its weird how there are reports of him having knee problems... weird that it had nothing to do with it

Lupul, Robidas, Bernier?
True, but you have to save money for pay raises too.

The three years still slide - I'm assuming 9/82 of his NHL Salary? I doubt there are any bonuses he could hit in that span.

He has some of the worst stats of 106 starting pitchers....he ranks 105th 106th in many categories.
You give him one more game....the jays cant afford to have guaranteed losses.

Not weird at all.
His knees weren't the reason he failed in the pros and disappeared from the Jays.
Yes he had a surgery.....but it was all mental for him.

His knees are what are hampering him NOW.....but not the reason he disappeared.

Nah, just sick of the unoriginal, cut and paste bullpoop served with a side of Kadriphobia...

Lucas' blogs are actually interesting to read.

Cut and paste this blog into Microsoft Word.

Cut and paste TSN article into separate Word document.

Do a doc compare.

Screen shot it, post here.

I would do it, but I am not in office.

i know the contract slides...and the contract is frozen basically... not 100% certain on how the pay works out... i wouldnt think the NHLPA would agree to not being paid... play 91 games for an 82 game salary?

The cap might go up by a million or so next summer.
- Fakepartofme

We lose about $20 million in Robidas, Bernier, Greening, Laich, Michalek and Hunnwik from the books

Would be nice to get some pocket change if you are still in junior.

Although let's be honest - he is already being paid big bucks by the Knights.

I cant remember, but are there any games in London this year for pre season Bruce?

Rychel signing must have tenderized your horn all weekend long..

Why stress?
Either the leafs overpay and sign him for 7 years where he will be decent for 2-3 years then the media and fans will turn on him.
Or
He doesnt sign with the leafs where he will be great for 3-4 years and media and fans will go on about how the Leafs missed another big fish.

No need to stress. The suns comes up no matter what.
